🇬🇧 The 78th OMEP World Assembly has successfully concluded.

Over the past few days, OMEP representatives from around the world gathered to exchange experiences, make important decisions, and shape the future of our organization through collaboration, dialogue, and a shared commitment to quality early childhood education.

This group photo reflects the unity that connects us and the strength of our global network.

As one important chapter closes, another begins — today, we open the OMEP World Conference, where we continue sharing knowledge, ideas, and inspiration.

🇪🇸 La 78.ª Asamblea Mundial de OMEP ha concluido con éxito.

Durante los últimos días, representantes de OMEP de todo el mundo se reunieron para intercambiar experiencias, tomar decisiones importantes y construir juntos el futuro de nuestra organización mediante la colaboración, el diálogo y el compromiso compartido con una educación y atención de la primera infancia de calidad.

Un capítulo importante termina y otro comienza: hoy damos inicio a la Conferencia Mundial de OMEP, donde continuaremos compartiendo conocimientos, ideas e inspiración.

🇫🇷 La 78e Assemblée mondiale de l’OMEP s’est achevée avec succès.

Au cours des derniers jours, des représentants de l’OMEP du monde entier se sont réunis pour échanger leurs expériences, prendre des décisions importantes et construire ensemble l’avenir de notre organisation dans un esprit de collaboration, de dialogue et d’engagement commun en faveur d’une éducation et d’un accueil de la petite enfance de qualité.

Cette photo de groupe reflète l’unité qui nous rassemble et la force de notre réseau mondial.

Alors qu’un chapitre important se termine, un nouveau commence — aujourd’hui s’ouvre la Conférence mondiale de l’OMEP, où nous continuerons à partager nos connaissances, nos idées et notre inspiration.

📣 OMEP – Call for Contributions | International Day of Education 2026

As part of the OMEP International Media Strategy 2026, we invite OMEP Member States to contribute to our International Day of Education 2026 campaign.

We are looking for one concrete example from your context under one of two options:

🔹 Option A – Participation in Action
Examples showing how children’s voices were heard, how adults responded, and how real change in practice followed.

🔹 Option B – ECCE as a Right
Examples highlighting barriers and challenges to the realization of Early Childhood Care and Education as a right.

📌 Format
* Written contribution (300–400 words) + one photo
or
* Short video (2–4 minutes)

🌐 Language: English, French, Spanish, or native language with English subtitles
📸 Photos/videos should show real situations. Consent for sharing is required.

📅 Deadline: 31 January 2026

UNESCO works to promote cooperation between states. More than ever, we need an effective multilateral system , and this cannot be achieved without ’s representation and leadership.

While women are half of the population, they represent only a small fraction of global decision-makers. They remain too often excluded from the spaces where peace is negotiated, budgets are decided, and global norms are shaped.

As we mark the International Day of Women in Multilateralism, we are reminder of the urgent need to increase women’s representation in key decision-making positions that shape and implement multilateral agendas.

UNESCO and its partners work to reduce inequalities in and through education, empowering women in science and technology for environmental action, promoting inclusion, and tackling gender-based violence. CONCLUSION

Through this Declaration, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to peace, human rights, and early childhood education as a foundation for a just and sustainable future. We are committed to act every day for the well-being, dignity, and happiness of all children, especially those who suffer the consequences of war, violence, poverty, and displacement — children to whom childhood itself is denied.
Our work and advocacy are inspired by them. They remind us that education must never stop, even in the most fragile or violent contexts. Every child, wherever they are, has the right to an education that protects life, restores hope, and offers opportunities to learn, imagine, and create — through their own language, their culture, their art, and their play. We call on governments, international organizations, and all actors of society to act with urgency, coherence, and responsibility to make early childhood education a political, social, and ethical priority, and to fully recognize young children as citizens, creators, and bearers of living, diverse, and peaceful cultures.

The World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP) finds among its members important professionals in the fields of pedagogy and education, intellectuals, activists and other professionals committed to early childhood (0 to 8 years old).
