The DNA ancestry of an Ikwerre, Etche, Anioma, Igboakiri (Igbanke), Ekpeye, Opobo, Ogba, Bonny, Okirika and Kalabari persons may not reflect their specific heritage above but can identify their Igbo ancestry, as they are part of the Igbo ethnic group. Goodluck Jonathan is not an Ijaw man, Jonathan is from the Ogbia tribe in Bayelsa State. Bayelsa State consist of five tribes namely Ijaw, Ogbia, Epie/ Attisa, Urhobos and Igbos

The Ogbia people don't speak and understand the Ijaw language, the Ijaw people don't also speak and understand Ogbia language, they have no connection in culture, same goes to the Epie Attisa tribes (the owners of the state capital Yenagoa) they're Edoid people with no single connection with the Ijaw people. The Ogbia tribe is second largest in population and they occupy a single LGA but considered minorities.

Bayelsa State is an heterogenous state, made up of people that are very different from each other in their linguistics and culture. Unlike the Ibibio and efik that has an homogeneous states and considered the forth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, the Ijaws truly have no state that can be called an "Ijaw State"
