We’re looking for a Marketing Intern (Designer) to join the Unicorn Factory Lisboa team and help shape the visual identity behind our campaigns, events, and community.

From launching programs and supporting major events to creating content seen by thousands of founders, investors, and innovators, you’ll be designing for one of Europe’s leading startup ecosystems.

You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have a background in Design, Marketing, or Communications
- Have a strong eye for design (Canva is a must, Adobe is a plus)
- Enjoy fast-paced environments where no two days look the same
- Feel comfortable creating content in both Portuguese and English

In return, you’ll gain hands-on experience, real ownership from day one, and the opportunity to work alongside a small, senior marketing team helping position Lisbon as a global innovation hub.

This program runs on the commitment of our Global Youth Partners — José de Mello and Sonae — who open real challenges to teenagers and bet on their ideas, turning a summer program into a launchpad. We’re also grateful to our location partners, ISEG Lisbon, Católica-Lisbon SBE, FEP Faculdade de Economia e Gestão da Universidade do Porto and Liga Portugal for hosting these bootcamps and giving our teams the space to build.

📍 ISEG, Lisbon — Challenge by José de Mello: What would make Lisbon the best city in Europe to be a teenager?
8 projects, including Unplug (turning screen-time limits into real-world skills) and LxQuest (turning the city into a quest board with local business rewards)

📍 Católica Lisbon SBE, Lisbon — Challenge: Helping families stay connected in busy lives
10 projects, including Luna (a sleep-optimizing app that locks your phone at bedtime) and Foodlie (making mealtimes easier with picky eaters)

📍 FEP, Porto — Challenge by Sonae MC: How might AI help Continente invent better products, processes, or services?
5 projects, including Green Talk (an AI speaker on supermarket shelves explaining sustainable choices with verified facts) and My Shelf (co-creating new products through community challenges)

Real entrepreneurs showed up to challenge, mentor, and inspire our teams: Rodrigo Figueiredo (Upspeech), Francisco Martins (Cozecare | Saúde Mental), Vicente Mayer Garção (Lampsy - Invisible Epilepsy Monitoring), João Aroso, Tomás Pimenta da Silva (dress me), João Santos (Tilect), and Nuno Gonçalves (Curya). Today, we brought together founders from the Unicorn Factory Lisboa portfolio for an exclusive breakfast with Google and an open, practical conversation about how AI is shaping the way startups and scaleups build, grow and expand internationally.

The conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities founders are navigating as AI continues to reshape the way startups build, grow and scale. No slides. No pitches. Just honest conversations, practical experiences and active participation.

At Unicorn Factory Lisboa, we believe that building a stronger startup ecosystem means creating meaningful connections between founders and the right partners, expertise and perspectives to help them navigate opportunities and challenges as they scale.

Over two days at Unicorn Factory Lisboa, founders, investors, corporates, and ecosystem leaders came together to explore the future of innovation - from AI and product development to international expansion and investment.

Highlights included:
💡 AI insights from Jorge Pessoa (Noxus), Ivo Bernardo (daredata.ai), Paulo Dimas (Center for Responsible AI), and a keynote by Gil Coelho.

🌍 Lessons on scaling globally from Adrian Mayans Vergara (Glovo Portugal), José Salgado (BIZAY UK), Francisco Lisboa (Indie Campers), and Rúben Germano (Revolut).

A huge congratulations to Lampsy Health, whose AI-powered solution for real-time epileptic seizure detection will now represent Portugal at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in Silicon Valley, competing for a $1M investment prize.
