🍄✨ Curious about mushrooms but not sure where to begin?

If you’re feeling the mycelial pull, here are 3 must-reads to spark your curiosity:

📖 Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake – a dear favourite, this book introduces mushrooms as both magical and understandable. It shifts your worldview, not just your knowledge base.

📖 Mycelium Running by Paul Stamets – a classic where scientific depth meets passion, offering a more rooted perspective of fungi as a powerful ally in our climate shifts.

📖 The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben – A really valuable way to learn and integrate how trees align with fungi. Also, a cool book to try out integrating tree-based principles in your day-to-day life 🍄

And if you’re hungry for more than pages… and want to get up close and personal with learning about mushrooms we’ve got something brewing 👀

On November 29th join us for Bees to a Flower: Mushroom Foraging with biologist Alexandra Lea and biodynamic chef Peter Daniel Grant

Bees aren’t just “cute pollinators.” They’re teachers of intelligence, medicine, and ecological balance. 🐝✨

3 facts you probably didn’t know:

Illness Detectors – Bees can be trained to detect disease markers in human breath/sweat. Their sense of smell is off-the-charts, making them living biosensors with potential applications in medicine.

Guardians Beyond Pollination – Some wild bees protect ecosystems by “floral policing,” damaging certain blooms that would otherwise dominate. an often overlooked role in maintaining ecological resilience.

Collective Intelligence – When choosing new homes, swarms compare dozens of sites, “debate” through dances, and reach consensus—no central leader required. Nature’s original decentralised decision-makers.

Why this matters for us: if we learn from bees, we can remember how to be in right relationship, sensing, collaborating, and tending to the whole. Recognising that there’s more to bee’s than just pollination!

Join us on 4 October with Chris Park, a modern Druid, storyteller, and ecological artist, for an immersive journey into bee lore, practical wisdom, and the subtle languages of the hive. Come to listen, learn, and leave with grounded ways to support these guardians where you live.

7 Years of Tree 🌳 Planting

From Portugal to the UK, and soon a secret place in Central America, Primal has had the honour and privilege of bringing people together to plant trees, always native to the soils in which they belong.

Each sapling carries more than roots and leaves. It carries prayers, hands joined in care, the laughter of strangers becoming kin, and the memory of Earth rituals that remind us of our place in the web of life.

We don’t just plant trees. We weave community through soil. We return to an ancient rhythm, where gatherings are not only celebrations, but acts of restoration. Where the simple act of placing roots in the ground becomes both ecological healing and a cultural remembering.

Why trees? Because they are timekeepers. Silent elders that gift shade, oxygen, and nourishment long after we’re gone. To plant a tree is to say: I believe in the future, and I offer a gift to the shade I will never benefit from 🌍

Primal’s gatherings are rooted in this, stewarding land together, marking transitions with ritual, and leaving places more alive than how we found them.

✨ Here’s to 7 years of planting, praying, and protecting.
And to the forests still to come. 🌳🌳🌳

Learn Beekeeping: and Journey Into Druidry & Folk Tradition 🐝🌿🎶 on October 4th

Bees are more than pollinators, they are keepers of balance, playing a vital role in our ecosystems, food systems, and ancient traditions. Yet, they face growing threats from habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change.

Join Chris Park () an experienced beekeeper, Druid, and folklorist, for a day of deep learning and connection as we explore the wisdom of the hive and what it teaches us about reciprocity, resilience, and living in harmony with nature in his home base in Oxfordshire.

🐝 Beekeeping & The Wisdom of the Hive

Learn natural, ethical beekeeping practices that protect and support these essential pollinators.

Understand the ecological importance of bees, how they sustain biodiversity, and what we can do to safeguard them.
Explore the spiritual and symbolic role of bees in ancient traditions, from Druidic teachings to folklore.

🌳 Druidry: An Ancient Path of Nature Connection

Druidry teaches us how to live in rhythm with the land and honor the interconnected web of life. Through simple earth-based rituals and storytelling, we’ll explore how we can rekindle our relationship with nature and find wisdom in its cycles.

🎶 Pagan Folk Songs & Ancestral Connection

Music has always been a way to celebrate and honor the land. We’ll come together to sing pagan folk songs, carrying forward the voices of our ancestors and deepening our connection to the natural world.

Bees show us the beauty of collaboration, community, and care, now it’s our turn to protect them. This isn’t just a workshop, it’s a call to action.
