To the European Parliament’s Liaison Office in Portugal for your continued support and to Dr. Mário Queiró for engaging with our participants during the workshop on EU Institutions and Young People.
To the Portuguese Parliament for welcoming us into your historic space for two full days, granting the high patronage of the Parliament’s President, and to Vice-President Dr. Diogo Pacheco de Amorim for his warm words to our participants.
And to ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management for hosting us for three days, including our meals and gala night, and for standing by BETA Portugal as a long-term partner.

✨ Day 5 Recap ✨

Back at ISEG for our final day and what a grand finale it was!

The morning started with a coffee break that broke speed records as participants sprinted for their Pastéis de Belém. A huge thank you to our sponsor for letting everyone taste the absolute best of Lisbon’s sweetness. 💙

From there, the day had it all:
Karaoke sessions in the Council (yes, diplomacy can sing!)
A scandalous rebrand of the Left into CRL: Comrades Reunited and Liberals 👀
The final voting sessions sealing a week of intense debates
And one last press conference, packed with memes and recaps of everyone’s hard work

And to close in style, we had the privilege of enjoying a performance by ISEG’s Academic Band (Tuna), sharing even more of Portuguese tradition with our participants. A special thank you to for making this bitter moment of goodbyes much sweeter.

Finally, we kept a beloved MEU tradition alive: the signing of the placards, so everyone takes home not just memories, but a piece of Lisbon and this unforgettable week!

A thank you to all the participants and organizing team for making this week (and all the months of preparation before) so incredible and for showing their true dedication and passion for this project and event! Nothing would be possible without any of you!

We hope to see 🇪🇺 again in sunny Lisbon!

✨ Day 4 Recap ✨

Our final day at the Portuguese Parliament was a full one; and what a way to say goodbye to the House of Democracy that welcomed us so warmly these past two days. 🇵🇹

We began with our last workshop of the week, led by , Head of the International Organization for Migration in Portugal, who delivered an engaging and interactive session with our participants early in the morning!

Then the debates took off:
- The Council finally started discussions on the Lobbying Regulation Directive
- The Parliament tackled the EU Talent Pool, with a political shake-up as two new factions were created while others disappeared or merged

Meanwhile, our journalists kept up the heat with not one but two press conferences, adding to the day’s lively chaos.

And because memories matter, some of our participants turned the iconic Parliament stairs into their own photoshoot runway: the perfect send-off before closing this special chapter in the home of Portuguese democracy.

✨ Day 3 Recap ✨
Today we moved our simulation to a very special venue: the Portuguese Parliament. 🇵🇹

We were warmly welcomed by the Vice-President of the Parliament, setting the tone for an inspiring day in the heart of Portuguese democracy.

Our sessions continued with:
The European Parliament meeting in the Senate Hall
The Council of the EU gathering in the Commissions Hall

It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to hold our event here for two days: bringing this simulation into the very place that breathes democracy in Portugal.

Day 4 is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next!

✨ Day 1 Recap ✨
We officially opened our conference with a warm and inspiring ceremony led by Luís Loureiro de Amorim from the European Commission’s Representation in Portugal, who shared a kind and meaningful speech to set the tone for the week!

We are especially grateful to him and to the Representation for their support and for providing materials to our participants.

The day continued with insightful workshops:
- From our Commissioners, Participants Coordinators, Board, and Chairs!
- Cátia Batista introduced the EU Talent Pool.
- Paulo Sande shed light on the Lobbying Regulation Directive, which participants will explore further in the simulation in the coming days.

With more sessions at ISEG, Day 1 set the stage for an exciting and thought-provoking week ahead! A big thank you to all of those who are making this possible!
