Happy Freya’s Day, Witches! 🖤

Friday is Freya’s day, and today I’m thinking about the things she held sacred. Love, beauty, passion, magick, pleasure, the land, and the cats who were so closely associated with her.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in everything that needs doing that we forget there is magick in simply enjoying our lives. A good meal. Music playing while we work around the house. The cat curled up beside us. A walk beneath the changing leaves. Wearing the perfume we love even if we aren’t going anywhere. Putting on the jewelry that makes us feel beautiful just because we can.

Freya was not only a goddess of love and beauty. She was connected with seiðr, a form of Norse magick and sorcery, and she was a goddess who knew both desire and sorrow. There is something very human in that combination. Life can hold joy and longing at the same time. We can miss what is gone and still appreciate what is sitting right in front of us.

Maybe that is a good thought to carry into this Friday. Don’t rush past all the little things that make your life yours. Pet the cat a little longer. Burn the good candle. Notice how beautiful October is becoming. Tell someone you love them. Make something with your hands. Enjoy what you have while it is here.

May Freya bring a little love, beauty, magick, and pleasure into your Friday, and may you find at least one reason today to stop what you’re doing and simply enjoy being here.

Happy Freya’s Day, my friends. 🖤🐈🍂
