KAICIID

KAICIID The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) The Centre also combats all forms of discrimination based on culture, religion or belief.

KAICIID is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to promote the use of dialogue globally to prevent and resolve conflict, to enhance understanding and cooperation. KAICIID’s mandate is to foster dialogue among people of different religions and cultures to build bridges and instil mutual respect. Intercultural and interreligious dialogue helps build communities’ resistance against prejudice, strengthens social cohesion, supports conflict prevention, and can serve to preserve peace. As an international organization, KAICIID supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in particular the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. We implement programmes to overcome stereotypes in a long-term process that leads to a culture of dialogue that enables greater understanding of people of other cultures and followers of other religions.

On the International Day of Non-Violence, we are reminded that dialogue can offer another path when tensions threaten to turn into violence. 🕊️

In the town of Zemio, in the Central African Republic, local religious leaders from the Peace and Reconciliation Committee (PCRC), working with KAICIID and in collaboration with MINUSCA, have been supporting mediation efforts amid local tensions.

When clashes restricted movement and disrupted daily life, three incredible PCRC leaders responded swiftly to a request from Azande representatives and helped mediate an agreement to stop the violence, allowing for daily life to resume and keep the door open for further dialogue.

The mediation continues today, quietly and without images, reflecting the sensitivity of peacebuilding processes but also the courage of those that take the lead on the ground.

Because non-violence is more than an aspiration. It is something built through dialogue, trust and the willingness to keep talking.

Empowering Voices: Migrant & Refugee Women in Dialogue 🕊️

Through the Network for Dialogue (N4D) Grant Scheme, KAICIID is proud to support MEERU – Abrir Caminho and Islamic Relief UK in Porto, Portugal, with their initiative “About Us — Migrant Muslim Women in Dialogue”.

In this video, Pedro shares how .abrircaminho is building community in Northern Portugal by highlighting the female face of migration and Islam—ensuring women have a seat at the table in interreligious dialogue and fostering a true sense of belonging.

When we create safe spaces for women to lead and share their stories, dialogue creates real community transformation 🌿

Over the past two days, Manila became a meeting point for Education across Southeast Asia. 🌏

Held during the ’ ASEAN Chairship, the Peace Education High-Level Conference brought together institutions, educators, policymakers and peacebuilders to exchange perspectives on how education, dialogue and cooperation can contribute to more peaceful and inclusive societies.

This is where four helped us shape the conversation with their examples of how they have been using Intereligious & Intercultural Dialogue in their work and how it's been shaping their efforts into peacebuilding and social cohesion in the region. Each one of our Fellows bringing experience in areas including regional cooperation, research, peace education, youth engagement, interreligious and conflict transformation. 💬

KAICIID was proud to collaborate with the OPAPRU for the Conference, highlight the importance of interreligious and intercultural dialogue in Peace Education and peacebuilding across Southeast Asia.

We also had the pleasure of having the KAICIID partner Ima Abdulrahim from the The Caravanserai Collective, to put storytelling on the map for intercultural and inter religious engagement in Southeast Asia.

Together, these exchanges helped connect regional perspectives with practical approaches to Peace Education and peacebuilding. 💙
