Na semana passada, realizámos uma visita privada especial para os AMIGOS da POR:TA à exposição coletiva GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN, na , que celebra as vozes e a criatividade de 19 artistas a viver em Portugal.⁠

Com a curadoria de Federica Elena (.elenart), a exposição reuniu perspetivas audazes e reflexões sobre o que significa ser mulher nos dias de hoje.⁠

Last week, a special private tour was held for AMIGOS da POR:TA of GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN, a vibrant group exhibition at celebrating the voices and creativity of 19 artists based in Portugal. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠

“O artesanato é uma identidade que não se pode perder, deve ser renovado e adaptado aos novos contextos sociais.” – Catarina Tudella

“Estou atraída pela ideia de recriar espaços de comunhão, onde trabalhamos com as mãos, conversamos e cantamos juntas” – Milena Kalte

Catarina e Milena foram selecionadas pelo júri da POR:TA como as Runner’s-Up desta edição! Para apoiar o seu crescimento artístico, a POR:TA concedeu 500 euros a cada uma delas, reforçando a importância de investir em talentos emergentes e no futuro das artes.

Catarina Tudella (.tudella) trabalha o Bordado de Castelo Branco com uma dedicação rara, criando peças únicas que unem técnica ancestral e expressão contemporânea.

Milena Kalte (), antropóloga e artesã, investiga relações entre humanos, plantas e territórios através da cestaria. A sua prática entrelaça ecologia, política e cuidado, transformando técnicas tradicionais em ferramentas de pertença, colaboração e resistência.

Catarina and Milena were selected by the POR:TA jury as this edition’s Runners-up!
To support their artistic growth, POR:TA awarded €500 to each of them, reinforcing the importance of investing in emerging talent and the future of the arts.

Catarina Tudella (.tudella) works with Castelo Branco embroidery with exceptional dedication, creating unique handmade pieces that merge ancestral technique with contemporary cultural expression.

Milena Kalte (), an anthropologist and artisan, explores relationships between humans, plants, and landscape through basketry. Her practice weaves ecology, politics, and care, transforming traditional techniques into tools for belonging, collaboration, and resistance.

Music Session #3 - Ebrahim Mohammadi | House of Santur

Na quinta-feira, 9 de maio, realizámos mais uma Music Session - desta vez com o músico e percussionista de santur, Ebrahim Mohammadi (.of.santur ).

Ebrahim cativou o público com uma atuação profundamente imersiva e hipnótica, guiando-nos através de paisagens sonoras ancestrais e emoções profundas. Sendo um dos poucos professores ativos deste instrumento tradicional afegão, foi uma verdadeira honra partilhar a sua arte e talento.

Music Session #3 – Ebrahim Mohammadi | House of Santur

On Thursday, May 9th, we hosted another edition of the POR:TA Music Sessions — this time showcasing the musician and santur percussionist, Ebrahim Mohammadi (.of.santur ).

Ebrahim captivated the audience with a deeply immersive and hypnotic performance, guiding us through ancestral soundscapes and profound emotion. He is one of the few remaining active teachers of this traditional Afghan instrument, and it was a true honor to share in his artistry and talent.

POR:TA Private Tour & Preview #2 — “Ser Es” e “Organismo”, Paula Riquelme Orbenes | Galeria Haize
Nas últimas semanas, tivemos o prazer de acolher dois eventos que nos mergulharam no trabalho único de Paula Riquelme Orbenes.

No dia 29 de abril, encontrámo-nos na Private Tour #3, na Galeria Haize, para uma visita íntima à exposição “Ser Es”, a primeira individual de Paula em Lisboa. A noite proporcionou uma exploração envolvente da sua linguagem artística. Um agradecimento especial à Majda Amroun, por nos ter recebido na Galeria Haize, à Mycelium Disco, pela música, e à Cork Culture, pela maravilhosa harmonização de vinhos.

Depois, no dia 13 de maio, voltámos a reunir-nos numa Private Preview de “Organismo”, a performance imersiva de Paula apresentada pela Maraña, antes da sua apresentação pública nas Carpintarias de São Lázaro (15 a 18 de maio). Esta experiência multidisciplinar revelou ainda mais a profundidade e a dimensão do seu mundo visionário.

POR:TA Private Tour & Preview #2 — “Ser Es” and “Organismo”, Paula Riquelme Orbenes | Haize Gallery
Over the past few weeks, we had the pleasure of hosting two POR:TA events that immersed us in the unique work of Paula Riquelme Orbenes.

On April 29th, we gathered for Private Tour #3 at Haize Gallery for an intimate visit to “Ser Es”, Paula’s first solo exhibition in Lisbon. The evening offered a compelling exploration of her artistic language. A special thank you to Majda Amroun for hosting us at Haize Gallery, to Mycelium Disco for setting the mood with their music, and to Cork Culture for the beautiful wine pairings.

Then, on May 13th, we came together again for a Private Preview of “Organismo”, Paula’s immersive performance presented by Maraña , ahead of its public debut at Carpintarias de São Lázaro (May 15–18). This multidisciplinary experience further unveiled the depth and dimension of her visionary world.

Na passada terça-feira, dia 18 de março, tivemos o prazer de experimentar uma visita privada à mais recente exposição de Catarina Dias, For Every Last Thing, na Rialto6.

Nascida em Londres e atualmente sediada em Lisboa, o trabalho multidisciplinar da Catarina - que abrange desenho, fotografia e escultura - explora de forma maravilhosa o diálogo entre imagem e linguagem.

Estamos gratos à Catarina por partilhar a sua visão, à Rialto6 por nos receber generosamente no seu belo espaço de exposição e à Jahn und Jahn por nos fazer a apresentação.

Private Tour #1 - “For Every Last Thing”, Catarina Dias | Rialto6

Last Tuesday, on March 18th, we had the pleasure of experiencing a private tour of Catarina Dias’ latest exhibition For Every Last Thing at Rialto6.

Born in London and now based in Lisbon, Catarina’s multidisciplinary work—spanning drawing, photography, and sculpture—beautifully explores the dialogue between image and language.

We’re grateful to Catarina for sharing her vision, to Rialto6 for generously hosting us at their beautiful exhibition space, and to Jahn und Jahn for making the introduction.

And a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us—your presence made this intimate experience truly special.
