The paper presents an industrial evaluation of a multimodal workplace guidance system combining projection-based guidance, marker-free hand tracking, voice interaction, and a web-based interface to support defect digitization and rework processes in flexible manufacturing.

Results from user studies on the shop floor show the potential of multimodal guidance systems to improve interaction confidence and support more adaptive, human-centered manufacturing environments.

As part of our journey through the event programme, this moment will give participants a concise introduction to the RaRe2 toolbox and the broader manufacturing perspective behind it. At the recent EFFRA General Assembly, the panel discussion “Human-centric manufacturing in the age of AI: Tools, skills and industrial transformation” highlighted a crucial question for Europe’s industry: how do we ensure that AI-driven transformation keeps people at its core?

Representing European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF), Director Eurico Assunçao contributed to the discussion, bringing forward the role of skills, qualification, and workforce readiness in this transition.
