Our little Tequila graduated from obedience class and apparently decided a basic diploma simply wasn’t enough for him. He’s now taking a Rally Competition class, and this weekend, he completed his very first Rally Novice run!
And HE. KICKED. BUTT.

Tequila earned his first qualifying run with an incredible 96/100 and came in SECOND PLACE! His classmate just barely edged him out for first with a 97/100.

From Boridoggie to bona fide competition dog.

THIS is one of our favorite parts of rescue. Adoption isn't the end of their story; sometimes, it's just where they finally get the chance to show everyone exactly what they’re capable of.
96/100 on his very first run?! We’re going to need Tequila to leave a little talent for the rest of the class.

We are SO ridiculously proud of you, little man. Keep kicking butt, Tequila. Your LPF family will be cheering you on from the sidelines every single step of the way.

When Miracle came to us, we knew her back legs didn’t work. We knew there was trauma. We knew there was a very real possibility that a wheelchair would be part of her future.

But after a full examination with Dr. F, our little Miracle gave us something we weren’t expecting: hope.

Miracle has a spinal fracture and significant muscle wasting in her hind legs. But when Dr. F tested her, she responded quickly to deep sensation in BOTH hind limbs. Even more incredible?
With assistance, Miracle is trying to bear weight.

Read that again.
This little girl, whose body has been through so much, is trying to stand.

Dr. F is recommending physical therapy to help rebuild the muscle she has lost and give Miracle every possible opportunity to regain some weight-bearing ability in those back legs.

We don’t know where this road will lead. We don’t know how much function she may regain, and we won't make promises her little body hasn't made yet.

But we do know one thing.
Miracle isn’t done trying. So neither are we.

Wheelchair, four paws on the ground, or somewhere beautifully in between; we’re going to give this girl absolutely everything she needs to become the strongest, happiest version of herself.
Turns out we may have named her Miracle for a reason

Our adoptable Boridoggies are officially back in class, and their report cards are looking pretty impressive.

But there’s still one BIG assignment left to complete: finding their forever families. 🏡❤️
They’ve got their backpacks packed, their best smiles ready, and absolutely no intention of doing actual homework.

For years, we’ve watched our Boridoggies leave Puerto Rico and begin entirely new lives with families who opened their homes and hearts to them. We’ve celebrated the adoption photos, the first snowfalls, the birthdays, the beach days, the spoiled-rotten updates and every happily-ever-after in between.

Comenzamos está Lunes celebrando la adopción de Tulipán en nuestra isla gracias a Dios!

Hoy una familia puertorriqueña y clientes de Boarding At Luving Paws tomo la decisión de abrir su corazón y las puertas de su hogar a una rescatada. Tulip 🌷 hoy comienza su nueva etapa en los brazos de Bianca y con unos abuelos espectaculares..

Estás adopciones en Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 nos llenan de mucha emoción pues reconocemos que en nuestra isla tenemos adoptantes excelentes y nos encanta cuando logramos que uno de nuestros rescates encuentre su hogar aquí!

Gracias a todos los que son parte de nuestra comunidad,nuestras madrinas,padrinos,ustedes todos que con sus donaciones nos ayudan a cambiar vidas.

Two tiny ladies. Two BIG personalities.
Meet Lulu & Fiorella, two adorable Chihuahua girls who are happy, playful, and ready to find their people.

Lulu is our little firework. She’s spunky, silly, playful and brings that classic Chihuahua “I may be tiny, but I have THOUGHTS” energy everywhere she goes.

Fiorella is our little snuggler. Sweet, affectionate and happiest when she can curl up close to her people and soak up every ounce of love available.

One brings the spark, the other brings the snuggles… and both are pretty darn irresistible.

And just like that… HOME.
Wren, Benji, and Milik (now Rooney) are officially settling into their new forevers and, safe to say, they are living their absolute best lives!

New families. New routines. New favorite spots on the couch. And the beautiful realization that they never have to wonder where they belong again.

Meanwhile, our sweet Chiquitín is living it up in foster, soaking in all the love and comforts of home while he waits for his special person to finally find him. We know they’re out there… they just don’t know yet that their best friend is waiting for them.

This is why we do it.
Three home. One still waiting. And four lives that will never be the same.

Her name is Miracle. And after hearing her story, you'll understand why.

Weeks ago, Miracle was brought to a veterinary clinic to be euthanized. Not because she was suffering. Not because she had stopped fighting. Not because she had given up.
But because she couldn't use her back legs.

This beautiful girl somehow got herself onto the property of a rescuer in Guayama who, because of health challenges, was no longer able to take in additional dogs. With nowhere to go and no one able to provide the care she needed, euthanasia felt like the only option.

Then Dr. Calimano stepped in.
He looked at this dog lying in front of him and saw something everyone else was missing.
He saw life.

Today, Miracle officially begins her journey with Luving Paws. Over the coming weeks, she will undergo examinations, radiographs, and additional testing so we can better understand what is happening within her spinal cord.

What we do know is that Miracle will likely become one of our wheelchair girls, just like our beloved Tiny.

And if Tiny has taught us anything, it's this:
Dogs don't measure their lives by the number of legs they can use.
They measure them in sunshine.
In meals, toys, belly rubs, soft beds, friends, and love.

The easiest thing to do would have been to say goodbye. Instead, we chose to fight for her.
Because a disability is not a death sentence.
Because a dog who still finds joy deserves the chance to keep finding it.
Because every life has value.

Welcome to Luving Paws, sweet girl.
You were almost a goodbye.
Instead, you're our Miracle. 💜

We've been busy shaking up some of our kennel groups, and let's just say there's a reason behind it. 😏

Salvador, Raven, and Velvet have been spending some time together in one of the play yards, making fast friends and showing us just how amazing they are.

What could we possibly be up to?
You'll just have to stay tuned to find out.

Tomorrow, four lives take flight to forever ✈️🐾
The wheels leave the ground bright and early tomorrow morning, and we couldn't be more excited.

Because of this incredible community, Milik, Benji, Chiquitín, and now Wren, are officially packed and ready for their next chapters.

Every sponsored flight, every donation, every share, and every person who believes in what we do helped make this possible.

Tomorrow, we'll be taking you along for every step of their journey, from takeoff in Puerto Rico to the moment they land and begin the lives they've been dreaming of.

Stay tuned, friends. The adventure is just beginning.
