HISTORY OF SILAY INFINITY RIDERS CLUB, INC.
How It All Started
The story of Silay Infinity Riders Club, Inc. (SIRC) began in June 2018 during the Kansilay Festival Celebration in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
During the celebration, a group of motorcycle riders from Bacolod City came to Silay City and introduced the idea of forming a riders' chapter. At that time, the club was known as BACOLOD RUSI RIDERS, headed by Sir Jan Irald Plantillo, President of Bacolod Rusi Riders (BRR).
Because of the growing interest of motorcycle enthusiasts in Silay City, the Bacolod Rusi Riders – Silay Chapter was formed. Around 20 riders initially joined the group.
At the beginning, everyone was excited to become part of the organization. The members enjoyed riding together, attending meetings, sharing stories, and participating in different activities. What started as a simple riders' group slowly became something more meaningful. The members developed friendship, trust, and camaraderie.
As time passed, the members became more than just riding companions. They became brothers and sisters. They celebrated special moments together, supported one another during difficult times, and created memories that strengthened their relationship.
The Challenge That Tested the Group
However, as the saying goes, there is no perfect organization, club, relationship, friendship, and family.
Eventually, disagreements and misunderstandings began to arise between the Bacolod and Silay riders. Differences in opinions and other circumstances created conflicts within the group. These challenges eventually led to the separation of the Bacolod and Silay riders.
For many, this could have been the end of the organization.
But for the Silay riders, it was not.
The members had already built a strong relationship and meaningful camaraderie. They believed that what they had created together was too valuable to simply let go.
They often expressed the feeling of “SAYANG”—a Filipino and local expression meaning that it would be a waste to lose something that had already been built with friendship, effort, and memories.
Because of this, the Silay riders decided to continue the family they had started.
The Birth of Silay Infinity Riders Club
At that time, Sir Jomar S. Eguid took the lead in guiding the group. Together with him were Jose Gabriel Madayag, Cherry Ann Mandawe, and other dedicated members who helped keep the group united.
The members began discussing and creating a new identity for their organization. Different ideas for a club name were presented, and after careful consideration, the name SILAY INFINITY RIDERS CLUB was created.
The name was eventually agreed upon by the members.
This became the beginning of a new chapter.
The members created their own logo, identity, organizational system, programs, and activities. More importantly, they established a renewed sense of purpose. They were no longer simply a group of motorcycle riders. They were building an organization founded on friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood, unity, service, and commitment.
From a small group that simply wanted to continue their friendship, SIRC slowly developed into an organization with a growing vision.
Growing Together as One Family
As the years passed, the members experienced many unforgettable moments together.
There were regular rides, meetings, celebrations, community activities, outreach programs, and simple gatherings that became meaningful because of the people involved.
Every ride became an opportunity to strengthen friendship.
Every activity became a chance to learn.
Every challenge became an opportunity to become stronger.
The members discovered that the real meaning of being a rider was not only about motorcycles or long-distance rides. It was also about having people who would stand beside you, support you, and share both the good and difficult moments of life.
The organization continued to grow because of the dedication of its officers, administrators, and members.
Expanding Across Negros
As the organization became stronger, SIRC eventually established chapters in different parts of Negros.
The organization reached different areas from the North to the South of Negros, including:
Sagay
Escalante
Bago
Cauayan
Sipalay
Hinobaan
The members never expected that the small group that started in Silay City would eventually become this big.
What started with approximately 20 riders grew into a wider family of riders connected by friendship and common values.
The growth of SIRC was made possible through the dedication, resilience, and commitment of its officers and administrators, together with the support of its members.
Becoming an Instrument for Other Riders
As time passed, some of the chapters eventually decided to establish their own independent organizations.
Although the separation of chapters could have been viewed as a loss, SIRC chose to look at it differently.
The organization was proud that it had become an instrument in helping other riders learn how to organize, manage, and develop their own clubs.
SIRC became a training ground and a foundation for many riders and groups.
The organization helped demonstrate that a riders' club could be more than just a group that rides motorcycles. It could become a community that promotes friendship, responsible riding, service, and fellowship.
Eventually, only one chapter remained under the SIRC organization outside its home base:
SILAY INFINITY RIDERS CLUB, INC. – CAUAYAN CHAPTER.
Despite the changes, the bond and history remained.
More Than Just Riding
One of the most important parts of SIRC's journey is its commitment to community service.
The organization did not limit its activities to motorcycle rides and fellowship. Its members also created programs that touched the lives of people and communities they encountered along the way.
Among the activities conducted were:
Outreach programs
Feeding programs
Mangrove planting activities
Tree planting activities
Environmental activities
Community assistance
Fellowship and charity activities
These activities allowed the members to share their time, resources, and talents with others.
Through these programs, SIRC inspired not only fellow riders but also members of the community and the younger generation.
The organization learned that the motorcycle could be more than a means of transportation. It could also become a vehicle for service, friendship, and positive change.
The Power of a Small Group
Among the many members who became part of the organization, around 10 active members played a significant role in continuously running and promoting the club during one of its important stages of development.
This small group worked together to keep the organization active and visible.
They organized activities, participated in rides, maintained communication, and continuously shared their experiences through social media.
They regularly posted pictures and stories of their rides, activities, celebrations, and happy moments on the club's page.
They never realized that what they were doing would eventually attract more people.
Slowly, the small group became bigger.
More riders became interested.
More friendships were created.
More people became part of the SIRC family.
What began as a small group of riders eventually became an organization recognized for its camaraderie and community involvement.
The Challenges Along the Way
The journey of SIRC was never perfect.
There were disagreements.
There were misunderstandings.
There were difficult decisions.
There were moments of disappointment and heartache.
There were times when members and chapters went in different directions.
There were circumstances that tested the organization's unity and strength.
But through all these challenges, SIRC remained standing.
The organization survived not because everything was always perfect, but because its foundation was strong.
The members learned that an organization becomes stronger when its people are willing to understand one another, accept differences, forgive, and continue moving forward.
Every challenge became part of the story.
Every hardship became a lesson.
Every success became something to celebrate together.
Eight Years of Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and Service
From its humble beginning in June 2018, SIRC has traveled a long journey.
What started with approximately 20 riders in Silay City became a growing organization with chapters across different areas of Negros.
The organization has experienced growth, success, challenges, separation, rebuilding, and renewal.
Through it all, the spirit of SIRC remained alive.
The club reached its 8th year of existence in 2026, a milestone made possible through the hard work and dedication of its officers, administrators, members, supporters, and friends.
The organization stands today as a reminder that a group does not become strong because of its size. It becomes strong because of its people, principles, relationships, and purpose.
The Legacy of SIRC
The history of Silay Infinity Riders Club, Inc. is not simply a story about motorcycles.
It is a story about people.
It is a story about friendship that survived challenges.
It is a story about riders who became brothers and sisters.
It is a story about a small group that refused to give up on the family they built.
It is a story about people who chose to continue despite disagreements and difficulties.
Most importantly, it is a story about how ordinary riders can create something meaningful when they work together.
The organization may have started with a simple ride and a small group of riders, but the memories, friendships, experiences, and service created along the way became much bigger than anyone expected.
Today, the members of SIRC can proudly look back and say that the journey was worth it.
The organization continues to stand strong because its foundation was built on friendship, camaraderie, dedication, resilience, and service.
As SIRC moves forward, its members carry with them the lessons of the past and the hope for the future.
The road may continue to bring challenges, but the organization will continue moving forward—together.
