The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) – Bacolod-Silay Airport proudly celebrated National Women’s Month 2026, March 19, 2026.
The activity served as a meaningful occasion to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of women in the airport community and beyond.
With this year’s empowering theme, “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” the celebration highlighted the strength, resilience, and leadership of Filipino women, inspired by the babaylans of pre-colonial Philippines who were known as influential leaders, healers, and agents of change in their communities.
The celebration gathered Women Supervisors, airport personnel, partner agencies Bacolod Silay Negros IslandRegion, Office for Transportation Security, TIEZA, Civil Aeronautics Board, Prov. of Negros Occ. ASF Team, Silay City Govt. and airlines in a unified show of support for gender equality and women empowerment.
The program featured inspiring messages from GAD Focal Person Ms Mary Ann Salvacion and Acting, Airport Manager Engr. John William Fuerte , recognition of women leaders and partner agencies, and activities that fostered appreciation, solidarity, and inclusivity within the workplace.
Special emphasis was given to acknowledging women in the aviation industry who continue to break barriers and excel in roles traditionally dominated by men. Their dedication and professionalism stand as a testament to the growing role of women in shaping a more inclusive and progressive aviation sector.
One of the events highlights was the intermission numbers from Bacolod Silay Airport On the Job Trainees from University of Antique, STI Bacolod, Colegio San Agustin, SIlay Institute.
