Strong 30 years Batch 96 proved once again that time and distance can’t break a bond built on shared memories and lasting friendship. On April 25, laughter, stories, and a whole lot of nostalgia filled the air as everyone came together to celebrate a heartfelt combined despedida for Russel Masangkay and Mariluo Isabela. It wasn’t just a party—it was a beautiful reminder of how this batch continues to show up for one another, no matter where life has taken each person.

The night was a mix of joy and bittersweet moments, as friends reminisced about the past while sending care for one another. Hugs lingered a little longer, smiles carried deeper meaning, and every shared moment felt like a treasure. Strong 30 years Batch 96 didn’t just reunite—they celebrated a friendship that refuses to fade, proving that some connections only grow stronger with time.

Three decades have passed, yet the bond of Batch ’96 from Joseph Marcello Institute feels as warm and familiar as ever. Time may have taken each of us down different paths—careers built, families raised, dreams chased and sometimes reshaped—but the laughter, memories, and shared moments from our younger years remain deeply rooted in our hearts. Reconnecting now is like opening a treasured time capsule, where every story told and every smile exchanged reminds us of who we were and how far we’ve come. There is something truly special about seeing familiar faces again, now carrying the wisdom and experiences of 30 years, yet still holding the same spark that once filled our classrooms.

As we gather once more, this pre-reunion becomes more than just reminiscing—it becomes a celebration of life, resilience, and enduring friendship. Each conversation is a chance to rediscover one another, to listen, to laugh, and to appreciate the journeys we’ve all taken. In this moment, we are reminded that while time moves forward, genuine connections never fade. Our bond as Batch ’96 continues to grow stronger, filled with gratitude, joy, and the comforting truth that no matter how much life changes, we will always have each other to come home to.

Today, Batch 96 of The Joseph Marello Institute proudly participated in the Kick-Off Project of the Bureau of Fire Protection – BFP in San Juan. Held at the lively San Juan Town Plaza, the event marked the beginning of Fire Prevention Month with the powerful theme, “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Di Ka Nag-iisa.” Through unity and shared responsibility, the community came together to raise awareness about fire safety, reminding everyone that prevention starts with each of us—but we are never alone in the mission to protect lives and homes.

The celebration was made even more vibrant with a spirited motorcade around the town, symbolizing solidarity and collective action. The energy continued with a Zumba dance session that brought together students, fire officers, local leaders, and residents in a joyful expression of unity and wellness. Beyond the movement and music, the activities reflected a deeper message: a strong, informed, and united community is the best defense against disaster.

Coinciding with National Women’s Month, the event also honored the strength, courage, and invaluable contributions of women in public service and in every corner of society. It was a celebration not only of safety and preparedness but also of empowerment and resilience. For Batch 96, the day was more than participation—it was a meaningful experience of service, awareness, and community pride that will remain in their hearts.

On February 24, 2026, the Joseph Marello Institute Alumni Batch ’96 proudly took part in a meaningful environmental mission alongside the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 512 Southern Tagalog. United by a shared commitment to protect and preserve marine life, the group gathered at the peaceful shores of Tan-ag to witness and support the release of 117 pawikan hatchlings into their natural habitat. The event was more than just a ceremonial activity—it was a powerful reminder of our responsibility to care for God’s creation and to actively participate in safeguarding our oceans for future generations.

Releasing the sea turtle hatchlings symbolized hope, renewal, and collective action. Each tiny pawikan carried with it the promise of life and the possibility of returning to the same shores years from now to continue the cycle of nature. By taking part in this initiative, the alumni demonstrated that environmental stewardship is not only a duty but also a heartfelt advocacy. The collaboration with the Coast Guard Auxiliary highlighted the importance of community partnerships in protecting endangered marine species and raising awareness about conservation efforts in Southern Tagalog.

This activity strengthened not only environmental awareness but also the bond among Batch ’96 members. Sharing this purposeful experience deepened their sense of unity and pride, proving that alumni engagement extends beyond reunions and celebrations—it can also be a force for meaningful change. Through this simple yet profound act of releasing 117 hatchlings to the sea, they left a lasting impact on the environment and set an inspiring example of compassion, responsibility, and love for nature.
