Boardwalk’s cooperatives (Boardwalk MPC and Boardwalk Network Multi Purpose Cooperative) are part of the company’s constant effort to help everyone within its reach. Both cooperatives are centered on helping employees and members on financial matters, most especially on investment. This community is an independent sector of volunteers who cooperate with one another to achieve their mutual social, economic and cultural benefits. Below are the 7 Cooperative Principles.
1. Voluntary and Open Membership - It is open to all individuals who want to volunteer their services and accept the responsibilities of the organization willingly without gender, social, racial, political or religious discrimination.
2. Democratic Member Control - Cooperatives are organizations that allow its members to set their own policies and make their own decisions.
3. Members' Economic Participation - Members contribute equally to, and democratically control, the capital of the cooperative. This benefits members in proportion to the business they conduct with the cooperative rather than on the capital invested.
