A Beautiful Reunion: Then and Now

Junelaine Verzonilla (now Delos Santos)

Last May during our reunion, after gathering at Tahanan ni Lolo Juan, we made our way to PEP'S Authentic Filipino and Japanese Cuisine in Brgy. Daungan - a restaurant owned by one of our very own first batch inaanak!

Junelaine joined the INAANAK Program in 2006 as one of our first batch of scholars. She was one of the best in her class, and I am so happy to see her again after these long years. She remained our inaanak until she graduated high school, and watching her grow has been such a joy.

In 2023, she graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies from Southern Luzon State University. In 2024, she got married, and now she is a proud mother of two beautiful children. Together with her husband, she runs PEP'S restaurant, serving authentic Filipino and Japanese cuisine right in our hometown- Mauban.

Having lunch at her restaurant was more than just a meal - it was a celebration of her journey, her dreams realized, and her success. She shared her experiences as an inaanak with the younger ones, inspiring them with her story of perseverance, education, and building a beautiful life and business.

Junelaine, you make us so incredibly proud! From being one of the best students to becoming an educator yourself (through your degree), a loving mother, and a successful entrepreneur - you embody everything we hoped the INAANAK Program could help achieve.

Thank you for welcoming us into your restaurant and for continuing to inspire the next generation. We are honored to witness your beautiful journey!

From Dreams to Reality: Junelaine's Journey

Lunch at the Seawall - A Visit to One of Our Own

After our heartwarming reunion at Tahanan ni Lolo Juan, our celebration continued as we moved to a very special place - Junelaine's restaurant right at the seawall of Mauban.
Junelaine was one of our first batch of inaanak. Watching her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. She finished college, built a beautiful family with her husband and two children, and together they opened this wonderful restaurant overlooking the sea.

As we gathered around her tables, sharing meals she prepared with love, the moment felt full circle. This is what we hoped for all those years ago - not just diplomas and degrees, but lives fully lived, dreams turned into reality, families built on strong foundations.
We reserved lunch there not only to support her business, but to celebrate her. To sit in her restaurant, to taste her success, to meet her family - these are the moments that make every sacrifice, every effort, every peso worth it.

And the sharing continued... over delicious food and the sound of waves, stories flowed freely. The older inaanak shared their paths, the younger ones asked questions, and Junelaine stood as living proof that the journey from inaanak to accomplished adult is not just possible - it's beautiful.

To see one of our own thriving, giving back to her community, raising her family with the values we hoped to instill - this is the true measure of the INAANAK Program's success.

Junelaine, we are so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for welcoming us into your restaurant and your life. Your story inspires not just us, but every young inaanak who sees what's possible when education meets determination and love.

Coming Home: A Reunion of Hearts

May 1st at Tahanan ni Lolo Juan

There are moments that remind you why you started this journey, and May 1st was one of those precious days that filled our hearts to overflowing.

As our inaanak gathered at Tahanan ni Lolo Juan - both the old batch and the new - I found myself looking at faces I could barely recognize. The young students we once knew have grown into remarkable adults. Time has transformed them, but the bond we share remains unbreakable.

What touched me most was watching the old batch of inaanak see each other again after so long. The joy in their eyes, the warm embraces, the laughter that filled the room - you could feel how much they've missed each other. They weren't just reconnecting; they were coming home to a family that understood their journey.
One by one, they shared their stories - the struggles, the victories, the lessons learned along the way. The younger inaanak listened with wide eyes and open hearts as their seniors spoke with wisdom earned through experience. In those moments, it became a living legacy, passed from one generation to the next.

This is what the INAANAK Program has always been about - not just scholarships, but a family. Not just education, but transformation. Not just supporting dreams, but building a community where those dreams can take root and flourish.
To see them all together under one roof again, sharing their lives, inspiring each other, paying forward the love and support they once received - this is the gift that keeps on giving.

Thank you to every inaanak who made the journey back to Tahanan ni Lolo Juan. You remind us that what we've built together is so much more than a program. It's a home. It's a family. It's love that multiplies with every life it touches.

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

A Beautiful Reunion: Then and Now

Girlie Escarieses (now Soriano)

Last May 1, 2026, was such a special day - a heartwarming reunion where we got together with our inaanak family! It was wonderful to see both our longtime inaanak and the newer ones, all gathered in one place.
Although Girlie wasn't able to join us on May 1st because of her work and because she now lives near Metro Manila, she caught up with us on May 2nd - and came with so much sweetness! She brought gifts for all the next generation of inaanak, a thoughtful gift for us, and a special one for her ninang Anne Marie. Her generosity and thoughtfulness touched our hearts deeply.
Looking back through these old and new photos of Girlie, we're reminded of the incredible journey we've shared. From her early days as one of our inaanak to the amazing woman she has become today - every step has been a blessing to witness.
These moments of reconnection remind us why we do what we do. It's not just about education; it's about building lasting relationships, creating memories, and watching dreams unfold.
Thank you Anne Marie Chapalain, her sponsor and ninang ever since, for helping us all throughout until Girlie finished college and earned her license. Thank you Girlie, for being part of our INAANAK family and for showing us the beautiful impact of this journey. Here's to many more reunions and shared memories! We are so proud of you! 🎓✨
