The Red Cross Youth Council of San Jose Community College are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic individuals who are ready to answer the call to serve. Join a movement of young leaders committed to promoting humanity, volunteerism, health service, and disaster preparedness.

As a Red Cross Youth Volunteer, you will gain valuable experiences, develop leadership skills, participate in meaningful community activities, and become part of a family united by service and compassion.

📌 Qualifications
✔ Must be 18 years old and above
✔ If below 18 years old, must have parental consent
✔ Must be enrolled in the current academic year
✔ Must have good moral standing
✔ Must be physically, emotionally, and mentally fit
✔ Must be willing to actively participate in Red Cross programs and activities

📸 Two (2) pieces 1×1 ID Picture

The San Jose Community College – Red Cross Youth Council is now officially opening the Filing of Candidacy for the upcoming RCYC Officers for Academic Year 2026–2027!

Do you have the passion to serve, lead, and make a difference? This is your opportunity to step forward and become a catalyst for humanitarian action, youth empowerment, and positive change within our community.

Eligibility for Candidacy:
1. Must be a Red Cross Youth Member;
2. Must have good moral character;
3. Must be physically, mentally and emotionally fit;
4. Must be actively involved in RCY activities certified by the council adviser;
5. If below eighteen (18), he/she must have a consent of his/her parent of his/her candidacy;
6. Must not be a graduating student if possible and;
7. Must not be a present officer of high rank (president to treasurer).

PRC JOINS IFRC, ICRC, AND 191 NATIONAL SOCIETIES IN CELEBRATING WORLD RED CROSS AND RED CRESCENT DAY 2026

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) joins the global celebration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 8, 2026, marking 79 years of nonstop commitment to helping communities worldwide alongside the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and 191 Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies.

The international observance follows the theme “United in Humanity,” meant to celebrate the volunteers and staff whose support and compassion toward communities shine amidst crises and emergencies around the world.

The day also serves as a call to uphold and protect humanitarian work, ensuring timely support is given to those most in need.

“The Philippine Red Cross volunteers are the backbone of the entire organization. Without their help, it would be nearly impossible to expand our reach and services in the farthest regions of the country. This day is meant to celebrate not only them, but also the millions of Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers worldwide who continue to serve humanity,” said PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement grew from an idea by Jean Henry Dunant in 1859 after witnessing the suffering brought by the Battle of Solferino in Italy.

Today, the Movement is composed of the ICRC, the IFRC, and 191 National Societies working together as the world’s largest humanitarian network.

“The Philippine Red Cross will always look up to the ICRC, IFRC, and our fellow National Societies, and celebrate their humanitarian achievements across the world. Rest assured, the organization will continue strengthening its services in the country while remaining united with the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in serving those most in need,” PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang stated.

The PRC commits its adherence to this year’s theme and ensures its application in the various humanitarian services it offers nationwide.
