The UP Medicine Student Council (UP MSC) is the governing body representing the medical students of the UP College of Medicine (UPCM). It is tasked with complementing UPCM’s efforts towards community-oriented medical education, research and service. The UP MSC listens to students and addresses your concerns as well as acting as a catalyst to your becoming a 5-star physician: clinician, researcher, social mobilizer, educator, and leader.

CALL FOR DONATIONS 📢

Ang UP Manila - School of Health Sciences Tarlac ay nagsasagawa ng Donation Drive para sa mga Tarlaqueñong apektado ng malakas na pag-ulan dulot ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat.

Sila ay tumatanggap ng parehong in-kind at monetary na donasyon:

• Pagkain at Tubig: Bigas, biscuits, easy-open na mga de lata, instant noodles, bottled water, at iba pang ready-to-eat na mga food items

The Tulong Kabataan - UPM is a relief and rehabilitation network and volunteer arm of the UP Manila University Student Council to help victims of floods, typhoons, and other natural disasters. Ever since, Tulong Kabataan UP Manila has opened its donation lines for every natural calamity or incident that has occurred.

LUBOG NA NAMAN ANG SAMBAYANAN! LUSOB PARA SA PANANAGUTAN!

Binabaha na naman ang mga kalsada ng Taft Avenue at kalakhan ng Maynila nang dahil sa kawalang pananagutan ng gobyerno at kapalpakan sa kanilang flood control projects. Ang mga lungsod at komunidad ay lubog, at ang mga mamamayan ay napipilitang lumusong sa baha, habang sina Marcos Jr. ay naghahari-harian sa palasyo ng Malacañang, ipinagsasawalang-bahala ang mga mamamayang patuloy niyang nilulubog sa kahirapan.

Kamakailan lamang ay kinaltasan ang budget allocation sa buong University of the Philippines (UP) System mula 29.5 billion ngayong 2026 hanggang ₱26.5 billion sa susunod na taon. Kadugtong dito ang pagkaltas din ang pondo para sa Philippine General Hospital sa kabila ng kakulangan sa maayos na pasilidad at mababang pasahod para sa mga healthcare workers.

Sa pagkaltas ng pondo para sa sektor ng edukasyon at pangkalusugan, lumobo naman ang pondo na nilaan sa DPWH para sa mga proyektong pang-imprastraktura gaya na lamang ng kadusta-dustang flood control projects na hindi naman nadarama ng mga mamamayang Pilipino. Gayundin ang pondo para sa mga ahensya para sa disaster preparedness ay kinaltasan din sa 2027 National Expenditure Program. Mula rito, malinaw na ang tindig ni Marcos Jr. ay hindi para pagsilbihan ang mga mamamayan nito.

Mariing kinukundena ng konseho ng mag-aaral ng UP Manila ang kawalang bahala at pananagutan ng administrasyon ni Marcos Jr. sa paglustay at misalokasyon ng pondo ng mamamayan. Isang taon na ang nakalilipas mula sa palpak na flood control, subalit wala pa ring nakukulong sa mga sangkot sa korapsyon at patuloy ang pagbaha sa mga komunidad.

Sa kabila ng mga banta at hamon na ito, patuloy na susuong ang mga hanay ng kabataan upang itaguyod ang karapatan ng mga mamamayan at panagutin ang mga nasa itaas–mananatiling iskolar ng bayan na patuloy na lalaban at para sa bayan. Tuloy-tuloy ang pag-oorganisa at militanteng pagkilos hangga’t hindi nananagot ang mga nanunungkulan tulad ni Marcos Jr. na walang ibang ginawa kundi ilubog sa kahirapan ang mga mamamayang PIlipino.

Inaanyayahan natin ang mga iskolar ng bayan na makiisa at kumilos! Magmulat, patuloy na makialam, at sumandig sa masang nangangailangan sa gitna ng hagupit ng panahon.

Ang UP Manila University Student Council ay kasalukuyang nangangalap ng donasyon (monetary or in-kind) para sa mga kababayan natin na apektado ng sakuna.

The Zoom interview recordings of the MSC50 Executive Committee applicants have been made available to the student body through the UPCM Telegram and the Batch Group Chats.

Once again, the deliberating body, composed of the MSC Chairperson and the Class Presidents from LU2 to LU7, will conduct a vote to appoint or not to appoint each applicant on August 13, 2026 (Thursday). Each applicant must garner at least 4 out of 7 votes. Results will be declared on August 14, (Friday).

Please stay tuned for future waves of recruitment. We will be searching for heads to the Core and Technical Committees.
