June 11-12, 2026
π Balar Events Place, Brgy. Balaring, Boac, Marinduque.
Building on the success of last year's inaugural Cacao Fair-hosted in partnership with Balar Events Place in celebration of World Chocolate
Dayβthe Marinduque Cacao Industry Development Council (MCIDC) is pleased to scale up its initiatives this year.
Last year's event successfully convened 256 delegates, including key stakeholders, enthusiasts, and MSMEs. Highlights included a showcase of innovative cacao-based culinary products, a live baking demonstration utilizing local cacao couverture, and a "seed-to-sip" presentation detailing the transformation of raw pods into premium cacao beverages. Beyond celebrating tavor, the event promotes Marinduque's gastronomy tourism and honors the dedication of our local farmers.
This year, the fair will advance further by introducing a specialized cacao sensory and tasting session designed to distinguish the unique flavor profiles and varieties of Marinduque Cacao.
Furthermore, the exhibition will expand beyond food to feature innovative non-food applications, highlighting the broader economic benefits of the crop.
Ultimately, this initiative aims to bring together all industry players and stakeholders to elevate the standards and competitiveness of Marinduque's cacao sector.
The objective of the event is to showcase the cacao heritage and cacao products featuring the cultural identity and gastronomy tourism of Marinduque. The celebration aims to boost the local cacao industry in Marinduque by providing opportunities for farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs to connect, learn sustainable farming practices, and access new markets. It also seeks to raise awareness on cacao sensory evaluation, encourage youth involvement in the industry, and highlight the economic and cultural significance of cacao in the province.
Overall, the two-day event fosters appreciation for chocolate while supporting the growth and sustainability of the Philippine cacao sector.
