Residential Energy Backup Management System for Power Interruption Detection and Generator Activation Using IoT – A Study by BS Electrical Engineering Students (S.Y. 2025–2026).

This project, developed by Jon Jon D. Calderon, Seiji M. Gullitiw, and Jhaselle E. Romero under the guidance of Research Adviser Wenson R. Evangelista, REE, focused on the design and evaluation of an IoT-based residential energy backup management system capable of detecting power interruptions and automatically activating a generator. The prototype utilized an ESP32 microcontroller, sensors, relays, and the Blynk mobile application to provide immediate outage detection, real-time notifications, and both remote and local control of the generator for reliable residential backup power operation.

Smart Transformer Load Monitoring System for Community-Level Power Distribution (S.Y. 2025-2026)

What if transformers could think and protect themselves? ⚑

This project, developed by BS Electrical Engineering students Jhanssen Dulnuan, Hjadser Estrella, and Nicolo Timbreza under the guidance of Engr. Wenson R. Evangelista, REE, presents an IoT-based transformer monitoring system designed for community-level power distribution. Utilizing an ESP32 microcontroller, PZEM-004T energy module, and the Blynk mobile platform, the system enables real-time monitoring of voltage, current, and power, along with automated overload protection through load disconnection. The system enhances efficiency, improves reliability, and helps prevent transformer damage by providing accurate data, remote monitoring, and timely alerts for safer and smarter power distribution.
