Those who have just followed us, a little brief about us.
We are a locally founded organisation that has no affiliation to any other organisation. This year is our 10th year of operations. Our focus is Human Resource Development in PNG.
We are sustained by unpaid volunteers based on the concept 'Service for Service'. We do volunteer onboarding periodically or when needed, depending on the progress of previous batch's volunteers. If there are issues, we fix it before we recruit more - quality over quantity.
We have 3 categories of Volunteers
1. General Volunteers
People who don't have time to get fully involved but are available when we need them, especially for events, public activities or when they want to help improve the organisation at their own pace. It's just an avenue to give when they can. Busy workers and students are in this category.
2. Trainees
There are two types;
*Trainees who work under Facilitators based on a Trainee Program that should go for 3 months or more if number of hours are not reached or performance is unsatisfactory. Focus is to acquire upskill with on-the-job training in a short period.
*Leadership and Management Trainees
This group of young people stay with the organisation for 3 or more years. Focus is to build leaders who can create or lead other groups sustainably.
3. Regulars
Regulars are the engine room. They do the work that keeps the organisation going. There is no time limit to their engagements except that they are always available. We keep tabs on them to ensure our goals are achieved.
We also have membership
This is for those who want to support our work and also be engaged in decision making.
Regulars have to volunteer for more than 3 months in order to qualify to be a member. They pay a fee while those in Leadership automatically become members.
