Christchurch let's welcome your adjudicator.
With over 30 years of experience in the dance industry, I have enjoyed a diverse and rewarding career as a performer, teacher, choreographer, costume maker, and adjudicator.
My dance journey began in Palmerston North, where I trained at the Gwenda Britten Dance School. I trained in RAD Ballet and Istd Ballet and Modern Jazz.
At the age of 17, I moved to Brisbane, Australia, to further my training as a full-time student at the Brisbane Dance Centre under the direction of Valerie Bailey.
At 18, I successfully auditioned for Encore Productions in Sydney, launching my professional dance career. During my time with the company, I performed in numerous professional productions throughout Sydney and Japan.
Alongside my professional dance work, I was actively involved in New Zealand amateur theatre, performing in a variety of musical productions across Palmerston North, Wellington, and Auckland.
Over the years, I have owned and operated two successful dance schools—one in Feilding and another in Auckland—where I had the privilege of nurturing and inspiring young dancers. I
taught RAD, ISTD, and NZAMD. More recently, I have taught at several dance schools across Auckland’s North Shore.
For the past 12 years, I have worked as the Manager of Pure Dance in Auckland, supporting dancers, teachers, and studios throughout New Zealand. In addition, I create a large number of dance costumes each year and regularly adjudicate competitions around the country.
I am passionate about supporting and encouraging dancers of all ages and abilities and am delighted to be part of this competition.
I wish all competitors the very best and hope you enjoy your time on stage.
