This is a group for autistic people and their whanau. We help stop isolation and loneliness in families living with autism.

Each month we have a number of groups to share what's been happening with others who understand, don't judge and just...get it.

Upper Hutt Art Trail is on, and UHAG is here. Come explore our HQ, look at beautiful art, and maybe bid for one of the UHAG statues. These statues show that we are all different in how we see creativity, potential, and beauty. But we all see these things.

Also our amazing Gingerbread houses are ready for pre-order. The best gingerbread houses in the Hutt Valley are happening again.

Next week starts with a slime and mess, then Tuesday has our regular events:
Muffin Stuffin - for parents to share how it's going (sorry there is no childcare for this.
Art for Whanau - art for families to just create something
Art for Teens 5:30pm - this is run by Alison Rush

Then on Friday UHAG is taking a break to setup for the Upper Hutt Art Trail.

UHAG is in HQ during the Art trail and has art created in the groups for auction.

Tuesday this week we have an extra art session at 11am. It's for the whole family, there is the option to finish the Art Trail Art, decorate a mimic chest, or just some colouring in.
It's a chance to leave the house, see some others and just chill.

Starting now is the create a mimic, this is 2 hours of creation and fun. There are blank chests to decorate, and turn into mimics from DND. Mimic's are creatures that copy things around them, so the only thing holding you back is your imagination.

Tomorrow is Tuesday and for some that's "UHAG day", so to start off with a bit of colour we have "adult art and social" where there are some statue forms to decorate, or mindful colouring or just chilling.
The statues are being created to display and hopefully auction during the Art trail weekend (2nd weekend in October). UHAG thanks those that donate their art skills to this, it helps us keep going.

In the afternoon we have low sensory art, that means it's quieter, people are more aware of personal space, there's no noisy sensory toys. It will be a chance to complete the started statues from last week or do some colouring, drawing, shading.

This Tuesday sees UHAG hosting "Muffin Stuffin" for parents to share, vent, celebrate, or just be in a room with others that get sitting in a room able to have drink (at the temperature others take for granted) is a good thing. 11am the coffee machine gets turned on, the baking makes it to the table and the iced tea sits next to the glasses. See you if you can make it.
Then in the afternoon whanau art is creating statues to be displayed in the Upper Hutt Art Trail. The statues are ready to decorate and we hope that they make our little artists think, create, and enjoy. Start time is 3:30 pm for the younger ones but if you need a later start we understand, turn up when you can, finish time is 4:30 but can be stretched.

This Tuesday UHAG is having "Coffee n Chill" a safe, social space for autistic adults, come a have a coffee/tea/cold drink and some home baking from Good Bi***es Baking with others. From 11am till 1pm (or any times you can handle between those hours). Support people welcome.

Then, in the afternoon we have our low sensory art group for whanau. This is the art space for those tamariki that need quiet, more personal space, and gentle art.

Starting the Month with a bang! Tuesday will have muffin Stuffin at 11am till 1pm. This is for parents to share the highs and lows of the month/week/morning, because we all know that day by day is sometimes a goal in parenting, but sharing makes it easier (hopefully).
Then something for our budding artists. Decorating a cup for Father's day, suitable for 4 to 12 with parent supervision. There will also be colouring options, art group is a chance to step into a different space with others.
The day ends with Teen Art run by Alison Rush.
