What an awesome turnout for our 1st Mid Winter Xmas Golf Tournament fundraiser, held at Putaruru Golf Club on Saturday 06 June.
A little bit of rain didn’t keep away the 39 teams (156 players) turning up to support this fun day.
With an awesome array of food available including hot honey bourbon glazed ham sandwiches, the all popular sausage sizzle and more, everyone was kept well fed and hydrated.
A big thank you to all our fabulous sponsors, without you we wouldn’t be able to have such wonderful prizes and fantastic goods to auction.

Last year the Tirau Lions in conjunction with the Lloyd Morgan Lions Charitable Trust and Lions Clubs District Banking Trust raised $31,290.00 to help the Tirau Volunteer Fire Brigade procure their new Shed.
On Sunday 17th May the Tirau Volunteer Fire Brigade had the grand opening of their new Operational Storage Facility (Shed).

Our first dinner meeting of 2026 was a very special evening of celebration. 🎉
We had the privilege of presenting two charter members, Len Erickson and Jim Duncum, with the Melvin Jones Fellow award for exceptional service and dedication to the club with 52 years of service.
We also awarded Steve Ensor from Tirau Earthmovers our Proud Supporter plaque in appreciation of Tirau Earthmovers Ltd continued support of the Tirau Lions over the past 50 years.
Peter Karl and Lloyd Watkins were presented their 25 years of service badges, and we welcomed our new member Jennie into the Lions.
Then, congratulations were given to members celebrating wedding anniversaries of 66 years, 60 years,
50 years, and 25 years.
And if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, we raised $29,000 dollars at this year’s golf day.
A fantastic way to start 2026 for the Lions Club of Tirau.
