From first-time visitors, to returning guest, to a former member coming back, and even a visitor who has now joined us as a new member. It was wonderful to see so many different connections happening around our club.

If you’ve ever thought about coming along but felt a little nervous, don’t worry, you’re very welcome here. And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Our club has a "𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲" to help new members settle in, learn how things work and feel more comfortable along the way.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply walking through the door. Come as you are! We’ll be happy to see you!

Every shared meal with our club feels a little like travelling without ever leaving Petone.

One table, so many cultures, and so many different flavours to discover. But it’s never just about the food, we also get to share stories, memories, traditions, and little pieces of our lives.

That’s what makes these evenings so special 😎😎. Already looking forward to the next one with our Phoenix Petone family 🥳🥳!

If you’d like to become a more confident speaker, communicator and leader, come along to our Toastmasters meeting.
You’ll get the chance to practise public speaking in a relaxed and supportive environment, improve your communication skills, develop leadership abilities, meet like-minded people, and step outside your comfort zone to grow.
Not a native English speaker? No worries at all — many of us aren’t either. You’ll fit right in.

No experience needed. No pressure to speak until you feel ready.

“If someone tells me I can’t do something, I’ll do it even better.” - May 💪

At our last Toastmasters meeting, May gave us a powerful answer to a table-topic question: “What would you do if someone told you that you couldn’t do something?”

May may be petite, but her determination and energy are anything but small. ❤️

You don’t need perfect English to have a powerful voice. You just need the courage to speak, and a supportive community to help you grow.

A great day out at Queensgate!

We had a great time meeting so many people, having a chat and sharing what we love about Toastmasters.

We loved telling people about our club and what makes Toastmasters such a great place to learn, grow and connect with others.

We’re always happy to welcome new faces. Whether you want to:

💬 Improve your communication skills
🦸 Develop leadership skills
🤝 Meet new people and make connections
😊 or simply step outside your comfort zone....

There’s something for everyone at Toastmasters, and no experience is needed to get started.

Last meeting at Phoenix Petone Toastmasters was full of irony… and warmth 🤗!

Our Grammarian challenged us with the word “Ironic”, and we heard some wonderfully ironic stories from our members (true or not, they certainly gave us a lot of Wow and laughs!)

After a week of rain, wind and cold, it was especially lovely to spend the evening together with plenty of warmth, laughter and learning.

At Toastmasters, it’s about making great connections, sharing the things we love, and helping each other grow.

As Kath Cherrie, Area W7 Director spoke about her 'Sticky Learning' insights, we make the most progress when we learn practical tools and steps, and also, encourage each other along the way.
