With new developments for our paa and marae on the horizon we would love to hear your whakaaro.

Whether you live nearby or further afield, your voice matters.

Haria mai a taatou mate ki’ tangihia, ki’ tuku ki runga i te whata naa Maru. Haere mai ki’ mihia ngaa hua o Puanga me te Tau Hoou Maaori.

Please join us as we again celebrate Puanga, this year in collaboration with Aotea Utanganui – South Taranaki Museum, and conduct our ritenga/ceremonies of Hautuku and Hautapu.

We call for kawe mate so we can lament together before we send our loved ones who have left us this past year to be with the stars.

Let’s come together to waananga and learn more about this time of year and what it means for us and how we can celebrate our new year and the fruits it may hold ahead.

Please come prepared for cold winter outdoor conditions. Bring warm clothing, suitable footwear, a torch, and any personal items needed for comfort. We encourage whaanau to bring an open heart and willingness to learn, uphold tikanga, and contribute to our kaupapa.

- Bedding including sheets
- Activities for Tamariki
- Warm layered clothing
- Waterproof jacket
- Covered footwear suitable for uneven or muddy ground
- Blanket or cloak
- Torch/headlamp with low-light setting
- Umbrella or rain protection
- Personal medications if needed

E te iwi, the following is a message for Taranaki whaanui to join the ope to pay our respects to koro Whatarangi Winiata.

E tangi tonu ana te ngakau ki te tini o ngā raukura kua ngaro ki ngā hautapu o te pō.

Ka whakaeke tātou o Taranaki Maunga a te 9am o te Rāhoroi.
Ka hui tātou ki te Whare o Ruaputahanga (TSB Hub - Netball court carpark) a te 4:15am o te Rāhoroi.

Ka eke ngātahi a Taranaki Maunga me Te Panepane o te Ika - Taranaki Whānui.

Taranaki will advance onto koro Whatarangi at Ngātokowaru Marae at the 9am pōwhiri on Saturday.
We will meet at the TSB Hub - netball court car park at 4.15am, leaving at 4.30am on Saturday and convoy down.
We will need to arrive at Ngatokowaru at 8am.

Registrations have opened for Te Raa o Ruapuutahanga, our iwi festival where we get to celebrate our Ngaati Ruanuitanga.

Lets come together again as Rangitaawhi, participate in the various codes and kaupapa and have a great weekend of whakawhanaungatanga, and learn a bit more about ourselves along the way.
