We know our energy costs for the marae have increased over this last year and that's with very little use!

This would be great for whānau & marae looking at solar options.

Get on the landline folks! There are plenty of initiatives happening out there.

You can check out the stats work being done by Te Kāhui o Taranaki Iwi. Get to your local library to get some tautoko from Te Kaahui o Rauru. The Rangatahi at Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Ruanui are pumping out a campaign for you young folk.

We here at Te Korowai o Ngāruahine are running wānanga and Te Kāhui Maru Trust are encouraging all of our Maunga iwi uri to get on the landline!

This year, all you need to do is get one of your whānau members who aren’t enrolled, to register and vote.

Ngā mihi Parininihi ki Waitōtara for the mītī and kūmara packs for whānau! 👏🏽 Come along to our AGM this Saturday to take a pack home for you and your whānau and join us too for our Kai and Kōrero after the AGM. Details in previous post 😊. See you there whānau! And don't be whakamā - if you haven't been before, nau mai haere mai. It would be lovely to meet new uri faces and welcome you to Whenuakura.

Nau mai, hoki mai. AGM + Hui Ako
Saturday 12 September, 10am, Whenuakura Marae

We said there'd be more to come, so here it is... :-)

For our hui ako, bring a plate of kai that reminds you of being at Whenuakura. Maybe something your kuia or koroua was known for, or the thing that always turned up on the table when the whānau gathered.

Bring the recipe too, handwritten is perfect, and a few lines about the person it belongs to. Photos welcome.

We're putting them together for the wharekai, so when our people are in there cooking and eating, they're surrounded by the names and the kai of the hapū.

Straight after the AGM we'll have a kōrero about kai at Whenuakura. Then we eat, and we share the stories that came with each plate.

Can't cook? Or don't have a recipe? Kei te pai tērā. Bring a plate to share, and come and listen to the kōrero. There'll be plenty of stories to go around.

AND we have a kai pack also, courtesy of Paraninihi ki Waitōtata to send home with all those who attend...😊👏🏽🤙🏽
