💜 Come join us for a coffee and a chat! ☕

If you're living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, or supporting someone who is, we'd love to see you at our next Auckland Community Catch Up.

This is a chance to meet others who "get it", share experiences, ask questions, or simply enjoy a relaxed catch-up in good company. Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been part of the IBD community for years, you're very welcome.

📅 Sunday 25 October 2026
⏰ 10:30am
📍 Woolfy's, 5 Cryers Road, East Tāmaki

We're also excited to introduce Gemma, who will be working alongside our wonderful Auckland Coordinator, Helen, to help support our local IBD community.

And because every good catch-up needs coffee, Belinda will be there and is shouting a coffee or hot drink for everyone who comes along! ☕💜

Please click Going on this event if you'd like to join us: https://www.facebook.com/share/1BX5GmdABw/

We'd love to catch up with you and welcome you into our Crohn's & Colitis whānau. 💜

💜🛵🚽 Can Jahman find New Zealand's greatest public toilet?

From attending Camp Purple Live as a young person living with Crohn's disease to becoming a future doctor, Jahman Cochrane is an inspiring member of our community.

Now he's taking on a 3,500km scooter journey from Bluff to Cape Reinga, reviewing public toilets and raising funds for Crohn's & Colitis New Zealand through his campaign, Hunt for the Greatest Toilets.

Living with IBD means never taking toilet access for granted, and Jahman's adventure is helping shine a light on the realities faced by thousands of people living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis across Aotearoa.

Every donation helps us continue our mahi through advocacy, education, connection and support for people and whānau affected by IBD.

💜 Community Notice from Auckland Ostomy Society

The Auckland Ostomy Society's latest newsletter is now available, with details on upcoming events and activities.

🎄 Christmas Meetings & End-of-Year Lunches

The Society will be holding two end-of-year meetings, both followed by a Christmas lunch:

📍 10 October 2026
Domain Lodge, Cancer Society's Domain Lodge, 1 Boyle Crescent, Grafton

📍 5 December 2026
Hibiscus Coast Community Health Centre, 136 Whangaparāoa Road, Red Beach

Both meetings include a Meet & Greet from 10:00am, with the meeting starting at 10:30am, followed by lunch. Catering is being provided, so RSVPs are appreciated to help with planning. If you're attending the October meeting, the Society would particularly appreciate a return RSVP.

🚗 Parking at Domain Lodge There is plenty of undercover parking available. Simply drive up to the gates, press the buzzer, and you'll be granted access to the undercover garage.

☕ Alex Café Lunch Don't forget the next lunch gathering at Alex Café is taking place next Wednesday.

Please note that the Christmas meeting coincides with the South Auckland Lunch Group catch-up. The Society apologises for the clash and advises that steps have been taken to avoid similar scheduling conflicts in next year's calendar.

If you have any questions, please contact the Auckland Ostomy Society directly.

If you are struggling to read it on social media, please email us and we can send you a pdf via email.

Crohn's & Colitis New Zealand is pleased to share this notice on behalf of the Auckland Ostomy Society. 💜

💜🐝 We're now on DonorBees!

We're excited to announce that Crohn's & Colitis New Zealand has joined DonorBees, a New Zealand platform that makes charitable giving simple through payroll giving. Employees can choose to have regular donations deducted from their pay, receive their donation tax credit immediately, and then direct their support to charities they care about.

By supporting CCNZ through DonorBees, you'll be helping us continue to provide support, education, advocacy, awareness initiatives, resources, and programmes such as Camp Purple for people living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis across Aotearoa.

Every donation makes a difference and helps ensure no one faces IBD alone.

💭 Ever found yourself wondering how Pharmac makes decisions about medicines in New Zealand?

We're exploring the possibility of a webinar with Pharmac and want to hear directly from our community. What would you ask if you had the chance?

📧 Send your questions to [email protected]

We'll use your feedback to help guide the discussion and ensure the webinar focuses on the topics that matter most to our community 💜

To help make the webinar as useful as possible, we're looking for broad questions about how Pharmac works and makes decisions. Questions relating to individual circumstances or specific medicines are unlikely to be included.

💜 A HUGE thank you to Katie!

We'd like to give a special shout out to Katie, one of our incredible volunteer nurses who has returned to support our campers at Camp Purple year after year.

Recently, Katie set up a table at her local library, chatting with people about IBD, Camp Purple, and the work of Crohn's & Colitis New Zealand. It was a simple idea, but one that helped raise awareness, start conversations, and generate donations to support our community.

💜 Could you be the next Katie?

If Camp Purple or CCNZ has made a difference to your family, why not do something similar in your own community? A few hours of your time can help raise awareness, start important conversations, and help us reach more people living with IBD.

Every conversation matters. Every donation makes a difference.

If you'd like to support our work, you can donate here:

Thank you, Katie, for your initiative, passion, and ongoing support. We couldn't do it without people like you. 💜
