parkrun is almost here - just 3 more sleeps to go until our next event and also the end of the term 3 school holidays. Celebrating 22 years of parkrun went in a flash.

The weather forecast is predicted to have some light showers in the morning, otherwise cloudy throughout.

For our volunteer roster this week is looking a bit light. Please comment or email [email protected], if you can do any of the following:

Stats for event 719.

There were 275 parkrunners on the field that marks the halfway point of the term 3 school holidays. Out of our 32 first timers to Lower Hutt, 5 of whom are debutants and hope to see you all again soon. 21 course PB's were also recorded.

Our volunteers are a bit light this week for event 720. If you are keen to take up a role, please get in touch.

Thanks to the regional parkrun ambassador of Australia - Bruce Purdie for writing event 719's report.

As it is another parkrun celebration since Bushy parkrun was founded 22 years ago. Fast forward 22 years on, tutus were on display for celebrating a memorable moment.

We also welcomed another parkrun event into the Wellington region - Queen Elizabeth parkrun, Kāpiti Coast that debuted today and welcome to the parkrun family.

22 years after parkrun first started in the UK, 234 Lower Hutt parkrunners joined our Event Director Mark Malone to celebrate his 700th parkrun!

Mark was at Lower Hutt for New Zealand's second-ever parkrun, and is the first person to join parkrun in New Zealand to complete the 700 mark, the 7th person outside the UK, and 258th world-wide.

Mark is also our Event Director and has volunteered on 376 separate occasions. If you are inspired to follow in his footsteps we have spaces on next week's roster for a few roles.

Results have been entered and should be with you shortly.

Happy 22nd birthday to parkrun and you are welcome to wear a tutu or just turn up to celebrate.

We are still on a lookout for another barcode scanner and a photographer, if anyone is keen to do it.

It is the last day of September and 3 more sleeps until our first parkrun of October. There is more fun this week, as it is parkrun's 22nd birthday and to make it event more special, it'll be a tutu event.

As it also marks the halfway point of the school holidays when parkrun is approaching, the weather is predicted to have showers, otherwise turning into a fine day.

For our volunteer roster this week, we are after the following vacancies to be filled. Please comment below or email [email protected], if you can do any of the following:

- Timekeeper (role filled)
- Barcode Scanning ×2 (need one more scanner)
- Funnel Manager
- Photographer
- Report Writer (role filled)

The Gums Loop parkrun team (Wainuiomata) had a successful trial run this morning.
It was slightly drizzly, and a few strong gusts of wind, but everything went well for the 38 finishers.

There will be one more trial on Sunday 11th October, at the (revised) time of 8am.

Happy Sunday parkrunners, hope you are slowly adjusting to having the clocks forward an hour for NZDT.

This coming week, parkrun turns 22 years old on Saturday 3rd October.

Did you also know that week is when we are closing to 4000 events worldwide since Bushy parkrun was founded? We thank each and everyone of you for making parkrun happen into your community.
