Awesome start to our Junior Surf season at Brighton. Great weather, nice waves and 80 kids on the beach. Big D keeping the smaller ones busy in the shallows with Max taking the older ones out for some big wave boogie boarding.

Thanks to Carolien at Nidd for putting on a sausage sizzle at the end with great support from Aidan D.

Congratulations to our new lifeguards! They've been working hard over the last few weeks and have now competed their surf lifeguard award. We have another couple who will be following shortly. Keep an eye out for these guys at the beach this summer.

We'll have another 'become a lifeguard' course starting soon, so watch this space.

A reminder that junior surf and patrols start in two weeks. Check out our junior surf open day on 2nd November - event is on this page.

Our guards are now on their way home from United North Piha Lifeguard Service! They had a great weekend of learning and meeting new people.

Thanks to those who supported our trip - Green Island Lions, Taieri Rotary, Mosgiel Rotary Clubs, the Club Committee and our amazing hosts, United North Piha. But also to Mary from United North Piha for being the best host!

What a great start to the season yesterday at our Brighton Junior Surf Open day. Great to have lots of returning members and plenty of new faces. Almost 100 juniors on the beach yesterday :)

Our Junior Surf sessions run nearly every Sunday at Brighton Beach. Come down at 9:45am and introduce yourself to one of the lifeguards and they will help to get you involved - join anytime through the season.

We run right through summer, including the school holidays. $50 membership including access to our awesome facilities and a free rash vest (thanks to Allied Security)
