I'm Brendan McEnroe, some of you might have seen me around the Bays or down at the Markets with a coffee. I'm Labour's candidate for East Coast Bays, but before anything else I'm someone who chose to make his life here in the Bays.
A bit about me: I came to New Zealand and built a career in technology, and I've spent years in how the digital world is reshaping jobs, wages, and the way we live. But you don't fix the cost of living or make a community stronger from behind a laptop you do it by turning up, listening, and getting stuck in.
That's really why I'm here, knocking on doors around the Bays, community events and I'd genuinely rather hear what's on your mind than talk at you. If you see me out and about, come say hello.

Technology is changing the world faster than politics is keeping up.

I am pleased to announce that I am standing in the 2026 General Election for Labour in the East Coast Bays Auckland.

For the last 30 years I’ve worked across fintech, healthcare, aviation, and supply chains helping organisations modernise, innovate, and prepare for the future. I’m standing because I believe New Zealand can do far more than simply react to change — we can lead it.

We need a country that backs Kiwi innovation, supports working people through the AI transition, and builds high-value industries right here in New Zealand.

I believe:
• Technology automation should work for people, not against them
• Our education system must prepare young people for the jobs of tomorrow
• Technology can improve healthcare, productivity, and public services
• New Zealand should invest in local talent, startups, and digital capability
• Economic transformation must benefit working families, not just large corporations

We have the talent. We have the ideas. We have the people.

What we need now is leadership prepared to build a future for New Zealand that is created in New Zealand.
