Today, my heart breaks because the scars we carry are ones we inflicted on ourselves. The decline did not come from a storm outside our walls, but from choices made within them. Our forefathers paid dearly—through courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve—to build the Nigeria we inherited. They gave us a legacy rooted in hope, dignity, and shared purpose.

Yet, somewhere along the way, we allowed greed to cloud our vision. We stopped looking backward to remember the price that was paid, and we stopped looking inward to ask who we were becoming. In our rush for personal gain, we abandoned the collective dream that once held us together.

Nigeria did not fall because its foundation was weak—our forefathers built it with their sweat and spirit. It faltered because we forgot the weight of their sacrifices and the responsibility of their legacy.

And so, as we face the Nigeria before us today, we must confront an undeniable truth: the power to wound this nation lies within us—but so does the power to heal

To our brothers and sisters across all states, especially those most affected, we stand with you. It is important for all communities to remain vigilant, stay informed, and support one another. Security is a shared responsibility, and every citizen has a role to play by cooperating with local authorities, reporting suspicious activities, and promoting peace within their communities.

Let it be clearly stated: no region should assume it is immune to current challenges. We encourage all youths and citizens to stay alert, prioritize safety, and work collaboratively with security agencies to safeguard their environment.

Together, with unity, preparedness, and collective action, we can overcome what lies ahead and protect our nation Nigeria.

“From what I saw in the video, it looked like several people surrounded VDM and acted as if it was a planned attack. One person was holding him by the waist, another in a black shirt was hitting him, and the crowd was shouting his name while recording instead of stopping the fight. It seemed like everyone teamed up against him, and it felt unfair and wrong. Even though he was alone, I believe he stood strong because God was with him. What happened in that moment looked cruel, and it was disappointing to see people choosing to film instead of help.” VDM
