Rederij Lampedusa vaart met een internationale crew en vloot door Hollandse wateren. Vaar mee en ontdek de kracht van migratie.

Rederij Lampedusa is een ontmoetingsplek, podium, leerplek, collectief integratietraject en een statement: de omkering. Kapiteins en gidsen met roots in o.a. Syrië, Somalië, Eritrea en Egypte, nemen je mee door Amsterdam. Dit terwijl je zit op een kleurrijke houten boot die ooit vluchtelingen over de Middellandse Zee vervoerde. De Lampedusa-crew toont een ander Amsterdam én vertelt over de enorme

bijdrage van migranten aan het succes van de stad, door de eeuwen heen. Daarmee laten we zien dat immigratie een meerwaarde is voor de maatschappij in het verleden, heden en de toekomst. Onze vloot bestaat uit Noord-Afrikaanse boten waarmee vluchtelingen de overtocht naar Lampedusa, Europa hebben gemaakt. De boten zijn bij hoge uitzondering geschonken door de Italiaanse autoriteiten en naar Amsterdam verscheept. Floating Stage - Third Act - Welcome by Hermes Ahmadi

What is the value of a life and what does it mean to feel your life is being valued? In his show “Welcome”, Hermes will explore these questions through his own life story.

As a refugee from a wartorn Afghanistan, he arrived in the Netherlands with his parents and two sisters. While assimilating to a strange new culture, Hermes learned more about his past, reflected on his time in war and peace and gathered stories and thoughts for you to experience during his show, where all of you are more than welcome!

This Sunday, we had the first out of four Floating Stage performances of the 2026 season! 🛟

Storytellers Ekram Jalboutt Rasheed Jarhoom and Nim wowed the audience with their courage, funniness and zest for life ✨

Mr. Friday, the stage for these performances was also blessed with the mesmerizing voice of Rahaf Ghannam.

How did a dream job turn into something she could have never imagined?

Ekram Jalboutt has stories to tell - and once you hear them, they won’t leave you.

This Sunday, Ekram is stepping onto our Floating Stage, together with Rashed Garhuom and Nim de Castro.

All three of them are storytellers with Rederij Lampedusa, sailing the Amsterdam waters and telling people abut this city’s migration history and why they left their homes.

This Sunday, however, they will let you in on more than ever.

All year around, Rederij Lampedusa creates a platform for voices that shape this city, but are too often left unheard.

And every summer, we turn our Floating Stage into a space for artists- both emerging and established- to share stories that stay with you. As we sail through Amsterdam’s canals, they will take you on journeys of home, belonging, memory and what it maenas to build a life somewhere else.
