Two Igbo Highlife Music legends: Late Chief Osita Stephen Osadebe (Eze Afulukwe) and Late Chief Oliver Sunday Akanite (Oliver De Coque), reunited by AI.

Igbo-Highlife is a contemporary musical genre which combines highlife music and Igbo folk music (Ekpili/Iro et cetera).

It originated in the southeast region of Nigeria, during the 1950s. The genre is primarily guitar-based music, with rare characteristic blend of horns and vocal rhythms. Igbo highlife lyrics are sung mostly in Igbo with occasional infusion of Pidgin English.

The Igbo oral form of call-and-respond which includes Akuko na Egwu (Tale or story-in-music), praise poems (Mbem), as well as Ilu (proverbs) feature prominently in Igbo highlife.

Long Live Igbo-Highlife Music!

I have some sympathy for my brother Mark Okoye.

He’s trying to do things by the book. Setting up systems and processes, and setting funds aside for private equity which is where the funds are invested in a new idea or business which will then grow and produce huge profits to fund big projects.

But there’s economic hardship and frustrations. People want “action”, they want to see results overnight or immediately.

Orji Uzor Kalu who is at risk of losing his seat in Abia due to the Alex Otti effect, needs to position himself as a “working senator”.

Has he made some mistakes, yes ofcourse! An office in Maitama is a bad decision. Why not Wuse II or even the outskirts of Abuja.

Saw a video on Instagram from a church abroad.

E be like say na cultural day. Each member in his or her own cultural wear said a few things about their own culture.

One Igbo man said he’s from the best culture in the world. The camera man quickly cut him off. Then the first comment was from a Yoruba man who Ofcourse had issues with an igbo man daring to say that his igbo culture is the best culture in the world.

Anybody who is offended by you binging up yourself, is a HATER and your ENEMY.

I mean, why is it so offensive to Yariba people for an igbo person to big up his own culture and ethnic group? Is anything stopping a Yoruba person from praising up his own culture? No. They do that all the time. The only difference is that igbo people don’t get offended about it.

So, incase you don’t know. The reason why yoruba people don’t want you to win or shine, the reason they don’t like Peter Obi or any Igbo success story, is because they’re INSECURE. It makes them very insecure to see anything positive about igbos.

If they show you who they really are, you better believe them!

This is exactly who MANY Yoruba people are, when it comes to Ndi Igbo, due to their own insecurities.

Ordinary Commissioner wey the war criminal Yakubu Gowon give dis Yariba 😈 called Obafemi Awolowo, he became the mouthpiece of Gowon’s genocidal military dictatorship.

In this video, he is saying that he’d much rather prefer that Igbo children continue to starve to death to preserve his Nigeria. The same Nigeria that jailed him for treason, which amongst other things led to the January coup of 1966, which the Anglo-American powers suspected to be a socialist coup and as a result backed uncircumcised northerners and their Yariba slaves to commit war crimes against Ndi Igbo and other Easterners.

We will always remember!

Nna anyi Chinụalụmọgụ Achebe.

Remembering a great son of IGBOland. The father of modern African literature.

His first book “Things fall Apart” is the most widely studied, translated, and read African novel.

Professor Chinua Achebe

From now on, anytime you as an Igbo person mentions Chinua Achebe, add “The Great”. So, Chinua Achebe the Great.

He was who Soyinka wanted and still wants to be.

The Yariba government of Tinubu renovated the National Theatre and renamed it after Soyinka, instead of Achebe.

Charles Chukwuma Soludo rename the river Niger Bridge after Achebe. But I know you lack the courage to do something like that. You want to appease Tinubu at all cost.

If you can’t do that one, then renovate that warehouse that Willie built and called it an Airport. Renovate it and make it into a modern aesthetically pleasing airport befitting of bearing the name of such a great Igbo son.
