To all music lovers.

Today is World Music Therapy Day. 🎢

Music is more than entertainment, it is therapy.

Research shows it reduces anxiety, supports emotional regulation, and improves mental wellness.

As a broadcaster, I have seen how sound connects hearts.
As a psychology student, I understand how rhythm heals the brain.

Let music be part of your healing journey today.

Today we mark Zero Discrimination Day. 🌍

This year’s theme, β€œWe Stand Together,” reminds us that equality is not optional, it is essential.

As someone who works in media and studies psychology, I see how discrimination affects mental health, opportunities, and dignity.

Let’s stand together against stigma, exclusion, and injustice.

Every human deserves respect.

Self-Injury Awareness Day (March 1)
Today is Self-Injury Awareness Day. πŸ’œ

As a media professional and psychology student, I understand that self-injury is often a coping response to deep emotional pain not attention-seeking, but a cry for help.

Many people are hurting silently.
Let us replace stigma with empathy.
Let us create safe spaces for honest conversations.

If you are struggling, please know this:
Your pain is valid. Your life matters. Healing is possible.

Living together in peace is a daily commitment to choose understanding over judgment, dialogue over division, and love over hate. As we mark the International Day of Living Together in Peace, may we build bridges, celebrate our diversity, and create a world where everyone is happy.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science 11 February

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebrates the critical role women and girls play in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It highlights the need for equal access, opportunities, and participation in scientific education and careers, while breaking barriers, stereotypes, and gender bias.

Empowering women and girls in science drives innovation, strengthens research, and accelerates sustainable development.

Today is a call to encourage curiosity, mentorship, and supportive policies that ensure women and girls can thrive, lead, and make lasting contributions to science and society.

World Pulses Day 10 February

World Pulses Day celebrates the vital role pulses such as beans, lentils, peas, cowpeas, and chickpeas play in nourishing people and sustaining the planet. Pulses are affordable, highly nutritious sources of plant-based protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals, making them essential for healthy diets, especially in the fight against malnutrition and hunger.

Beyond their nutritional value, pulses contribute to environmental sustainability by improving soil fertility through nitrogen fixation, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers, and supporting climate-smart agriculture.

As we mark this day, we are reminded to appreciate our local pulses, support farmers, and make conscious food choices that promote good health, food security, and a more sustainable future for all.

International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) is observed every year on 6 February.

The day raises global awareness about the harmful effects of FGM and reinforces the commitment to end the practice worldwide.

Female Ge***al Mutilation is a violation of the human rights of girls and women, with no health benefits and serious physical, psychological, and social consequences. This day calls on governments, communities, health professionals, and individuals to speak out, protect girls at risk, support survivors, and promote education and gender equality.

Ending FGM is essential to safeguarding the dignity, health, and future of women and girls everywhere.
