To commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, Tomorrow is a Girl Initiative carried out a menstrual health and hygiene outreach in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, reaching students at Anglican College of Transfiguration, Umuogudu Oshia Ngbo and Ecumenical Secondary School, Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo.

Through interactive sessions with both girls and boys, we created a safe space to talk openly about menstruation, menstrual hygiene, breast health, and the importance of breaking stigma. We addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation, shared practical knowledge on menstrual care, taught students how to manage menstrual cramps, and demonstrated the proper use of both disposable and reusable sanitary pads.

Over 500 students participated in the outreach, and the level of engagement, curiosity, and openness reminded us why these conversations matter. Including boys in these discussions remains important because building a period-friendly world requires everyone.

As part of the outreach, Over 100 Evamore reusable pads were distributed to female students to support safer and more sustainable menstrual care.

Menstruation is natural. It is not shameful, and it is never a limitation. Every girl deserves dignity, knowledge, access, and the confidence to thrive.

Together, we continue to advocate, educate, and create a world where periods are understood, supported, and never stigmatized. πŸ’œ
