Follow the journey of Manny from the US to Manzanillo to begin work as a mobile sterilization clinic. Animal Angels was founded by Manzanillo residents Fred and Laurie Taylor as a labor of love to improve conditions for street animals living on the edge. Manzanillo has a heartbreaking stray animal problem with estimates of well over 14,000 street animals. This is a direct result of overpopulation.

Many animals are dumped on the streets and left to fend for themselves. They are starving, sick, hurt, abused, unloved, and breeding. There is much suffering among this fragile and short-lived population of dogs and cats. Without some intervention their prospects for a normal life is non-existent. The Animal Angels organization sponsors these programs to reduce animal suffering and improve the lives of both animals and humans:
•• sterilization surgeries for street dogs and cats,
• free vaccinations for distemper, parvo and other contagious and deadly diseases

Donations can be made US tax free at animalangelszlo.org. 100% of the money raised will go directly to provide sterilizations, food and medical care for these dogs and cats. Your participation is welcomed and appreciated.

The story of Priscila:

Rescued in Manzanillo. Covered in ticks and full of infection. Cared for by our friends at Animal Care. Selected to go to Iowa to a forever home. Lovingly prepared for the trip by Nora Ochoa Gamboa. Taken to Ajijic by Joe Howell. Fostered for a week. Taken to Acambaro GTO by Beto Anaya. Onto the Rescue Express bus to San Miguel de Allende, the border, and Iowa. Adopted today!

A lot of work for one dog? Yes!
Worth every effort? Yes!

We are excited to share that last week we sent 3 dogs from Manzanillo rescues to Astoria OR to their forever homes. Another dog will go to Iowa on July 24.

It’s all a test for September, when an entire bus of dogs will head from the rescues of Manzanillo to California!

We 100% believe in local adoptions in Manzanillo, but with so many dogs in our shelters we also are happy to send so many to the U.S. and Canada.

UNA ACTUALIZACIÓN MÁS: La fecha para Veladero de Camotlán ha cambiado al jueves 2 de julio.

The date for Veladero de Camotlan has changed to Thursday the 2nd of July.

2 UPDATES:
1) El Centro ya está completo. No hay espacio para más animales en esa fecha, pero pueden contactar a Bienestar para esterilizaciones gratuitas en la fecha que le convenga.
2) Hemos añadido una nueva ubicación: Cedros. Consulte la foto adicional a continuación para obtener más información.
