Transparency Mauritius (TM) is an independent, non-political and non-partisan body corporate set up in 1998. It is the local chapter of Transparency International (TI), an organisation which fights corruption worldwide since 1993. TM’s mission is to fight corruption in the Mauritian society and to promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society. T
M acts through sensitization and intervention both at the level of government and the private sector in a view to change policies and create an accountability culture in Mauritius. Through the ‘Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres (ALAC), TI also connects to the general public and helps victims of corruption to understand their rights, find solutions and join the fight against corruption.
