When Generosity Meets Faith: Vegetables for Families

In a powerful testimony of Christian compassion, more than 500 kilograms of fresh vegetables have been distributed to families in four areas across Mauritius through the partnership of FoodWise, Yeshua Fellowship, and the Campus Crusade for Christ Mauritius.

The beneficiaries of this initiative are families engaged in the Family Empowerment Program, a faith‑based effort that strengthens households through counseling, education, and community support. For these families, receiving fresh produce is not only a matter of nourishment but also a sign of God’s provision and care.

This project was made possible thanks to the generosity of a wholesaler at the Wholesale Market de Wooton, who chose to donate surplus produce rather than let it go to waste. By channeling these blessings through Christian organizations, hundreds of households received both food and encouragement.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, heartfelt thanks are extended to:
• The wholesaler of the Wholesale Market de Wooton, for their generosity.
• The dedicated FoodWise team, for their vision and coordination.
• The faithful volunteers of Yeshua Fellowship and Campus Crusade for Christ Mauritius, who served as the hands and feet of Christ in this mission.

FoodWise captured the spirit of this effort in their recent post:
“Les carottes sont cuites et les brèdes dans notre camion ! 🥦🍊
3 mois, 1 seul partenaire: 5,420 repas redistribués = 1,355 kilos récupérés.”

This reminder echoes the words of Scripture: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink” (Matthew 25:35). What might have been discarded has instead become a blessing, turning surplus into sustenance and waste into witness.

Globally, fruits and vegetables account for 25.4% of food losses (FAO, 2025). Since its inception, FoodWise has recovered more than 1.4 million kilos of produce, proving that every kilo saved is not only food on the table but also a testimony of God’s care for His people.

Together, these partners have shown that when communities unite under Christ’s love, generosity becomes a living gospel.

🙏 May this initiative inspire more wholesalers, markets, and producers to join the cause, so that no family goes hungry and God’s love continues to shine through service.

🌍 The Great Commission by Manishwar Purmanund

📖 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:19‑20

*"When Jesus spoke these words, He wasn’t giving a suggestion He was giving a mission.
The Great Commission is the heartbeat of the Gospel. It calls us not only to preach but to live the message of love, justice, and compassion.
For me, this command means stepping beyond comfort zones reaching the forgotten, the broken, and the voiceless. It’s about transforming lives through truth and service.
The Great Commission reminds us that faith is not passive; it is active. We are called to go, to teach, to heal, and to restore hope wherever we stand.

In Mauritius and beyond, this mission continues through every act of kindness, every youth trained, every community uplifted.
The Great Commission is not limited to pastors or missionaries it belongs to every believer who chooses to reflect Christ in action. When we live the Great Commission, we become the hands and feet of Jesus carrying His light from the earth to the sky."*

🔥 Key ReflectionsDivine Authority:
Jesus empowers us with His authority to act boldly.

Global Mission: Every nation, every person matters in God’s plan.

Active Faith: True discipleship means living the Word daily.

God’s Presence: His promise “I am with you always” gives courage to continue.

🙏 Prayer
"Lord, ignite in us the fire of Your Great Commission. Teach us to serve with love, speak with truth, and walk with courage. May our lives reflect Your mission in every word and deed. Amen.

Testimony – Faithful in What Is GivenBy: Joseph*"There was a time when I thought responsibility was a burden. I wanted freedom without accountability, blessings without discipline. But when life placed me in charge of others, I realized that my actions mattered more than my words. In those moments of doubt, God reminded me of His Word:*
📖 ‘Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?’ — Luke 12:42
I understood that faithfulness is not about being perfect, but about being consistent. It is about serving with humility, caring for others, and managing what God has entrusted to me with wisdom.Today, I stand as a testimony that stewardship is a calling. Whether in my family, my work, or my community, I strive to be faithful in the small things, knowing that God sees and rewards obedience. My behaviour, my choices, and my service are the image I leave behind."*
✨ Theme: Faithful Stewardship, Lasting Legacy
🙏 Prayer:
"Lord, help me to be a wise and faithful servant. Teach me to manage what You entrust to me with humility and love, so that my life reflects Your heart. Amen."

Daily Encouragement – Your Behaviour Is Your Image
📖 “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

We may be offered opportunities as vast as the earth to the sky, but what truly remains is how we behave. Our words, our actions, and our attitude become the image others carry of us.

Even when blessings surround us, if we forget gratitude and point fingers in blame, we lose the beauty of the gift. But when we walk in humility, kindness, and integrity, our behaviour becomes a testimony that speaks louder than any possession.

✨ Encouragement for Today
Your behaviour is your true image. Let it reflect patience, love, and faithfulness. The world may give you much, but it is your character that will shine and endure.

🙏 Prayer
"Lord, help me to live with behaviour that reflects Your light. Teach me to be grateful for every blessing, humble in every success, and faithful in every trial. May my image be one of love and grace, pointing others to You. Amen."

On this Mother’s Day, we pause to honor the women whose love and resilience shape our families, communities, and nation. A mother’s embrace is more than affection it is a foundation of strength, sacrifice, and hope.
As Proverbs 31:28 reminds us: “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”
Through their daily acts of care, mothers empower families, defend dignity, and build compassionate societies. Their courage in the face of challenges inspires us to stand for justice, equality, and human rights.
Today, we extend our gratitude to every mother for nurturing life, guiding values, and instilling compassion. May this celebration renew our commitment to protect women’s rights, strengthen families, and foster communities where love and respect prevail.
Thank you, Mothers, for being the heart of humanity.
