💙 We believe every child deserves a moment of joy.

Through the “Shopping with Cops” project, Rotary Club Chișinău Cosmopolitan had the privilege to support 20 children from vulnerable families with something simple, yet powerful — a day of care, attention, and happiness.

The project was implemented by Asociația Obștească Capelan de Patrulă in partnership with the Northern Patrol Directorate of the National Inspectorate of Public Security. Together with police officers and chaplains, the children shared moments of openness and warmth, built new relationships, and felt seen, respected, and valued.

They also took part in a shopping activity, choosing essential items and gifts for themselves and their families — a simple act that brought dignity and joy.

🙏 It was more than an event - It was a reminder of what compassion and presence can create for those who are vulnerable. Because the strength of our community is reflected in how we care for those who need it most.

What happens when art meets story, memory, and imagination?

On April 30, we stepped into that world together with Cezara Kolesnik, a Moldovan-born artist based in Brussels. Through her words, we travelled from childhood dreams to bold abstract expressions — from Ode to Childhood and Dream with a Dragon to her latest explorations of color, light, and texture.

Her journey — from Moldova to the Sorbonne and exhibitions across the world — reminded us that creativity has no borders. And that art is not just something we see, but something we feel, question, and carry with us.

💬 An evening that invited us to slow down, look deeper, and reconnect with imagination.

On April 23, we had the pleasure of welcoming Daiga Bondare, President, and Maria Marinuta, Administrator of the International Women’s Club of Moldova.

They shared the story behind their organization — its history, its role in the local community, and the many initiatives that have supported people in need over the years. We also learned more about the well-known Christmas Charity Bazaar, as well as their ongoing projects and impact today.

Rotary Club Chișinău Cosmopolitan was proud to support the Trade Union Committee of the Republican Clinical Hospital „Timofei Moșneaga” by providing essential office equipment — helping over 1,500 professionals communicate, organize, and better support each other.

🌍 What does Moldova’s future look like through the eyes of the United Nations?

On April 16, our Rotary Club Chișinău Cosmopolitan community came together for an evening of reflection and dialogue around this very question.

Our guest, Ms. Yesim Oruc, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Moldova, shared her perspective on the country’s current challenges and opportunities — from sustainable development to the evolving role of international partnerships. With over 25 years of experience, she brought valuable context and depth to the discussion.

On April 2, we had the pleasure of welcoming Maxim Iliasov, entrepreneur and founder of SkyHelp.md.

Maxim shared the story behind building a service that helps air passengers claim compensation for delayed or cancelled flights, managing the entire process from start to finish. In a short time, SkyHelp has become a strong player in Moldova in a niche shaped by European passenger rights.

As a bonus, Maxim introduced an AI agent originally developed for SkyHelp, now used by lawyers to automate repetitive tasks and work more efficiently.

🥾 Rotary Club Chișinău Cosmopolitan – March 26

On March 26, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dmitrii Pliushciov, founder of the Hiking Community of Moldova.

In just a few years, Dmitrii has built a community of over 650 members, exploring and mapping more than 35 hiking routes across the country. He shared with us some of Moldova’s hidden gems, such as Costești reservoir, Poiana Village, Stroiești, and Fetești.

Looking ahead, Dmitrii is now focused on the next big step — creating one of the longest hiking trails in Moldova, with a vision to eventually connect it to a cross-border route toward Romania. An inspiring initiative that brings together adventure, community, and long-term impact.

On March 19, we had the honor of welcoming Andrian Gavriliță, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Moldova, as our guest speaker.

Appointed in November 2025, Minister Gavriliță is an economist with over 20 years of experience in economic policy, public administration, and international development.

In his current position, he oversees Moldova’s fiscal policy and public finance management, focusing on strengthening financial institutions and supporting sustainable economic development.

📚 Rotary Club Chișinău Cosmopolitan – March 12, 2026

On March 12, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sam Cardona, History and Sociology teacher at Heritage International School, for a truly thought-provoking evening.

Sam spoke about the life and ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche, sharing not only the philosophy but also the dramatic and very human story behind it — the moments in his life when he began questioning the world around him, the influence of his sister, and his friendship with Wagner.

Through storytelling, visuals, and music fragments, Sam created an immersive atmosphere that made philosophy feel alive and close to us. He also shared his strong belief that philosophy deserves a place in high school education, helping young people learn to question, reflect, and think for themselves.

🙏 Thank you, Sam, for the inspiring conversation — and for reminding us that, in one way or another, each of us is a philosopher.
