Model NATO Conference - Morocco

Model NATO Conference - Morocco The MNDT and MDA in partnership with Carleton University proudly bring you the first Model NATO Conference in Africa. Feb 26-28th, 2016 in Casablanca.

Hosted by the Moroccan National Debate Team - MNDT

The 1st Annual International Model NATO conference is scheduled for February 26-28th, 2016 in Casablanca. The Model is essentially a simulation of the proceedings of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and offers a unique opportunity for talented students to research and debate some of the most pressing issues facing the Organization today. The scope of NATO’s operations and undertakings presents students with a myriad of contemporary topics: from piracy, to peacebuilding, cybersecurity and many more. It also provides a unique opportunity to study the role and activities of NATO as well as the military, political-security, and economic issues facing the Alliance. Through simulation, students gain an understanding of the capabilities and constraints that shape the policies of NATO countries in determining matters of collective security. Apart from dealing with a prepared agenda, students grapple with a contemporary crisis to be revealed at the Model. Model NATO has long had a reputation for its emphasis on accurate representation and realistic simulations – as such, students can expect rigorous debate in a fast-paced and competitive environment, in addition to the opportunity to gain insight from our keynote speakers.
