Education • Family • Community — Providing educational opportunities for the whole family and building loving relationships that change lives and transform communities. A'ylah Center was born in 2011, with the aim of working to help Jordanians who are under the poverty line (14% of the population, according to the United Nations), as well as with Syrian, Sudanese, Somali and Iraqi refugees in Amman, Capital, and in Al Mafraq, a city north of Jordan near the border with Syria.

Meet Rawan! 🤟💛

Rawan is one of the wonderful volunteers who makes A’ylah Center such a special place. She lives here in Jordan and brings experience teaching Jordanian Sign Language to our community!

Rawan is caring, quick to learn, and so much fun to be around. She is always looking for ways to care for the people around her, and her joyful personality brings so much life to the Center.

We’re excited to learn from her, laugh with her, and see the impact she’ll make in the lives of those who walk through our doors.

🤟💙 Happy International Day of Sign Languages! 🌍

Today, September 23, we celebrate sign languages and Deaf communities around the world. Sign languages are complete, natural languages and an important part of Deaf culture and identity.

September 23 was chosen by the United Nations because it marks the founding of the World Federation of the Deaf in 1951—and this year, they celebrate 75 years!

At Aylah Center, we believe communication creates connection—and connection builds stronger communities. We’re grateful to keep learning more about the Deaf community and finding new ways to build connection, friendship, and inclusion between Deaf and hearing people. 🤝💙

🤟💙 اليوم العالمي للغات الإشارة 🌍

اليوم، ٢٣ أيلول، بنحتفل بلغات الإشارة وبمجتمعات الصم حول العالم. لغات الإشارة هي لغات كاملة وطبيعية، وجزء مهم من ثقافة وهوية مجتمع الصم.

اختارت الأمم المتحدة يوم ٢٣ أيلول لأنه يوافق تأسيس الاتحاد العالمي للصم عام ١٩٥١، وهالسنة بيحتفل الاتحاد بمرور ٧٥ سنة على تأسيسه!

في مركز أيلة، بنؤمن إن التواصل بقرّبنا من بعض وبيبني مجتمعات أقوى. ومبسوطين إننا عم نتعلّم أكثر عن مجتمع الصم، وعم نكتشف طرق جديدة نبني فيها التواصل والصداقة والشمول بين الصم والسامعين. 🤝💙

شو بدنا الناس يحسّوا لما يفوتوا من أبواب مركز أيلة؟ ❤️

إنهم يحسّوا بالتواصل والانتماء.

سواء حدا إجا يتعلّم إنجليزي، موسيقى، فن، أو إشي جديد، الفكرة أكبر من مجرد صف. بدنا نخلق مكان الناس تتعلّم فيه مع بعض، تبني علاقات، وتتواصل مع بعض.

Music is so much more than notes being played. 🎶

It’s the background to time spent together.
It’s the song everyone recognizes.
It’s a reason to sit down, listen, learn, and laugh together.
Sometimes, it’s even the connection point that starts a conversation when words are hard to find.

Music has a way of crossing barriers—language, culture, age—and giving us something we can share.

That’s why music class at Aylah Center is about more than learning chords, rhythms, and songs.

It’s about creating.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about community.
It’s about connection. 🤍

Because sometimes, connection starts with a conversation. And sometimes…it starts with a song. 🎸🎶

الموسيقى أكبر بكثير من مجرد نغمات بنعزفها. 🎶

هي الصوت اللي بيرافق أوقاتنا الحلوة مع بعض.
هي الأغنية اللي الكل بعرفها.
وهي سبب بيجمعنا عشان نقعد، نسمع، نتعلّم ونضحك سوا.
وأحيانًا، بتكون نقطة التواصل اللي بتبدأ منها محادثة لما الكلمات ما تكون سهلة.

الموسيقى عندها قدرة تتخطّى الحواجز—اللغة، والثقافة، والعمر—وتعطينا شيء مشترك نقدر نتشاركه.

وعشان هيك، حصة الموسيقى في مركز آيلة مش بس لتعلّم الأوتار، والإيقاعات، والأغاني.

هي للإبداع.
لبناء الثقة.
للمجتمع.
وللتواصل. 🤍

At Aylah Center, learning and family can happen side by side. 🤍

Sometimes English class looks like a workbook, a pencil… and a little one sitting on your lap. 😊

We love creating a space where anyone can continue learning, growing, and building new skills while still caring for the people who matter most to them.

Because when you invest in your education, the impact reaches beyond the classroom—it strengthens families and communities, too. 🤍

نؤمن في مركز آيلة إن التعلّم والعائلة ممكن يكونوا جنبًا إلى جنب. 🤍

أحيانًا حصة الإنجليزي بتكون كتاب وقلم… وطفل صغير قاعد بحضنك. 😊

بنحب نوفر مساحة يقدر فيها أي شخص يكمّل تعلّمه، يطوّر حاله، ويكتسب مهارات جديدة، وبنفس الوقت يظل قريب من الأشخاص اللي بهمّوه.

لأن لما تستثمر في تعليمك، الأثر ما بوقف عند الصف—بمتد ليقوّي العائلات والمجتمع كمان. 🤍

🤟 September is Deaf Awareness Month! 💙

This month at Aylah Center, we’re celebrating the Deaf community and sharing sign language videos throughout the month!

Here’s a little encouragement from Mohammad: If you meet a Deaf person, don’t be afraid to communicate! Type on your phone, use gestures, or even play a little charades. 😊

There are lots of ways to connect. Take baby steps and be willing to try! 🤍

And we’re excited about what’s ahead! We’re working toward bringing more opportunities to learn sign language at the Center, with members of the Deaf community helping lead the way. Stay tuned! 🤟

هالشهر في مركز آيلة، بنحتفل بمجتمع الصم وبنشارككم فيديوهات بلغة الإشارة طول الشهر!

وهاي نصيحة صغيرة من محمد: إذا قابلت شخص أصم، لا تخاف تتواصل معه! ممكن تكتبوا على التلفون، تستخدموا الإشارات والحركات، أو حتى تحاولوا توصلوا الفكرة بالتمثيل. 😊

في طرق كثيرة للتواصل. ابدأ بخطوات بسيطة وخليك مستعد تحاول! 🤍

وإحنا متحمسين للي جاي! بنشتغل على توفير فرص أكثر لتعلّم لغة الإشارة في المركز، وبمشاركة أشخاص من مجتمع الصم في قيادة هالخطوة. تابعونا! 🤟

🎹 Music is about so much more than learning the right notes.

At Aylah Center, our piano and music classes are a place to learn a new skill, build confidence, express creativity, and enjoy making music together. 🎶

We love watching our students learn something new, practice it over and over, and experience that moment when it finally clicks.

One note at a time. One new skill at a time. And lots of music along the way. 🤍

We’re so excited to see our students continue to learn and grow!

في مركز أيلة، دروس البيانو والموسيقى هي مساحة نتعلّم فيها مهارات جديدة، ونبني ثقتنا بأنفسنا، ونعبّر عن إبداعنا، ونستمتع بالموسيقى مع بعض. 🎶

بنحب نشوف طلابنا وهم بتعلّموا إشي جديد، وبتمرّنوا عليه مرة ورا مرة، لحد ما تيجي اللحظة اللي يزبط فيها كل إشي!

نغمة ورا نغمة. مهارة جديدة ورا مهارة. وكثير موسيقى وفرح بالطريق. 🤍

We are SO excited that some of our classes at Aylah Center are starting again soon! We can’t wait to welcome our English students back, see familiar faces, and spend time learning together again. 🥰📚

And this is just the beginning! More classes and opportunities will be starting soon, and we’re excited for all that’s ahead at Aylah Center.

كتير متحمسين إنّه بعض الصفوف بمركز آيلة رح ترجع تبدأ قريب! ومش قادرين نستنى لنرحّب بطلاب الإنجليزي من جديد، ونشوف الوجوه اللي اشتقنالها، ونقضي وقت حلو سوا وإحنا بنتعلّم. 🥰📚
