افتُتحت الدورة الرابعة عشرة من أسبوع أفلام المرأة في أمسية مميزة أُقيمت تحت رعاية صاحبة السمو الملكي الأميرة بسمة بنت طلال.

جمعت الأمسية الشركاء والدبلوماسيين وعشّاق السينما احتفاءً بقوة السرد القصصي والقدرة الفريدة للسينما على ربط الناس عبر الثقافات والتجارب المختلفة.

ومع تطلعنا إلى أسبوع حافل بالعروض السينمائية والنقاشات، يسعدنا أن نشارككم قصصاً من مختلف أنحاء العالم تُلهم التأمل، وتُثري الحوار، وتُبرز تنوع الأصوات والرؤى.

What a beautiful opening night for the 14th Edition of Women’s Film Week, held under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal.

The evening brought together partners, diplomats, and film enthusiasts to celebrate the power of storytelling and the unique ability of cinema to connect people across cultures and experiences.

As we look ahead to a week of screenings and discussions, we are excited to share stories from around the world that inspire reflection, spark conversation, and showcase diverse voices and perspectives.

The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army’s Southern Military Region received two mobile service units (caravans) through a project implemented by UN Women Jordan, supported by the Joint Support Fund (Canada, Finland, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, and Cyprus), as part of Jordan’s Second National Action Plan on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and in line with the Jordan Armed Forces’ Gender Mainstreaming Strategy.

The project will provide the Jordan Armed Forces with 10 caravans and 4 health service units across field locations, particularly in remote areas, helping create safe and enabling environments that support women’s participation in military settings.

UN Women Representative, Nicolas Burniat, highlighted the strategic progress of the partnership with the Jordan Armed Forces—from increasing women’s representation to strengthening the quality of their participation through training, capacity-building, and institutional support that enables women to take on leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to the security and military sectors.

تسلّمت المنطقة العسكرية الجنوبية في القوات المسلحة الأردنية – الجيش العربي وحدتين خدميتين متنقلتين/ كرفانات، ضمن مشروع تنفذه هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة في الأردن بدعم من صندوق الدعم المشترك (كندا ، فلنلندا ، النرويج ، اسبانيا، المملكة المتحدة ، فرنسا ، قبرص)، وتنفيذًا للخطة الوطنية الأردنية الثانية لتفعيل قرار 1325، وبما ينسجم مع استراتيجية إدماج النوع الاجتماعي في القوات المسلحة، وبحضور قائد المنطقة الجنوبية وممثل هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة ومديرة مديرية شؤون المرأة العسكرية وممثلين/ات عن الدول الداعمة لصندوق الدعم المشترك.

ويشمل المشروع تزويد القوات المسلحة الأردنية بـ10 كرفانات و4 وحدات خدمات صحية موزعة على مواقع ميدانية، خاصة في المناطق النائية، بهدف توفير بيئة آمنة وملائمة تعزز مشاركة النساء في المناطكق العسكرية.

وأكد ممثل هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة، نيكولاس بيرنيات، أن العمل المشترك مع القوات المسلحة الأردنية شهد تحولًا استراتيجيًا، من التركيز على زيادة أعداد النساء في القطاع، إلى تعزيز جودة المشاركة من خلال التدريب والتأهيل وتهيئة البيئة المؤسسية بما يمكّن النساء من تقلد الأدوار القيادية والمساهمة الفاعلة في القطاع الأمني والعسكري.

At the University of Jordan, young people are opening conversations on care and household responsibilities, creating space for different perspectives to be shared and discussed.

These conversations matter, as women around the world continue to spend nearly three times more time on unpaid care and domestic work than men.

During a field visit organized by the Royal Health Awareness Society الجمعية الملكية للتوعية الصحية under UN Women Jordan’s programme, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Amman , representatives from the Embassy and UN Women engaged with interactive activities and virtual reality experiences designed to encourage reflection on unpaid care work and gender roles within the household, followed by discussions with students.

By engaging youth and encouraging constructive dialogue, efforts continue toward promoting more balanced roles and greater equality in everyday life.
