Join us in congratulating Caliem White, son of Fiona Lawson, a valued member of our team at Coral Springs. Caliem is in Grade 6 at Duncans Primary, where he has earned an outstanding 94.2 average! 👏🏾

His achievements this year include:

Caliem also leads beyond the classroom as Administrative Assistant for Grade 6 Vincent, President of the Mathematics Club, and PRO for Daley House.

Celebrating Kristina McPherson: A Proud Alumna Giving Back to Jamaica 🇯🇲

In 2012, Kristina McPherson was awarded the E. Nadine Isaacs Memorial Architecture Scholarship, which has supported aspiring architects since 2004.

In 2014, Kristina moved to Canada, where she has since built a career spanning project management, operations management, and business development.

A woman of many talents, Kristina is also a licensed Senior Financial Services Professional and the founder and host of As Told by Canadian Immigrants—a media platform and community dedicated to supporting newcomers with trusted information, real stories, and meaningful connections as they build their lives in Canada.

Through all her accomplishments, Kristina has never forgotten her roots.

When we reached out at short notice in 2022 to ask her to assist with leading the Construction Project Management course at Jamaica College virtually, she did not hesitate to step forward. We have been delighted to have her support once again for the past two years!

Since its launch in 2016, the course has grown tremendously, with student registration more than doubling from last year to this year. We are proud to see so many students developing an interest in construction, and we celebrate those who go on to pursue and excel in related fields at the post-secondary level.

We hold a special place in our hearts for those who return to give back to our Foundation and contribute to the very profession that has given them so much. Kristina exemplifies the spirit of service, generosity, and commitment that we are proud to nurture in our community.

Let us continue working together to strengthen Jamaica’s construction industry and develop a new generation of skilled, knowledgeable, and well-equipped professionals ready to lead it forward.

🏗️ Learning Beyond the Classroom! 👷🏽‍♂️👷🏽‍♀️

Our students are gaining valuable hands-on experience during their Construction Project Management Internship with Gore Developments Limited at the Phoenix Park Site.

Throughout the internship, students have been learning about various stages of construction, including:

🏗️ Operating and understanding the use of a crusher to process marl into sand and different aggregate particles with Mr. Arden Smith.

💥 Observing controlled mountain blasting used to break rock down into gravel and construction material with Mr. Garrett Silvera.

🔥 Receiving a practical demonstration from Mr. Donovan Henry on the safe use of a welding torch.

🚛 Observing the delivery and placement of dirt and other materials on site.

🏠 Learning from Mr. Nicholas Gore about the finishing stages of houses and the step-by-step preparation involved in completing construction work on a daily basis.

🔩 Learning how steel is cut and bent to meet construction requirements in the steel yard with Mr. Peter Soares.

🚜 Receiving a demonstration on how an excavator operates and how it is safely handled on a construction site.

These experiences are giving our students a deeper understanding of the construction industry while allowing them to connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

A big thank you to Gore Developments Limited and everyone on the Phoenix Park team for providing our students with this invaluable learning opportunity!

The Gore Family Foundation was proud to support The Athlete Voice Summer Series 2026, recognising the importance of giving our young athletes the tools and confidence to communicate, speak up and tell their own stories.

Mrs. Christine Gore presented awards to the athletes at the end of the four-day programme to celebrate their growth and achievements.

As a Foundation, we are always proud and happy to support our Jamaican athletes and initiatives that help prepare them not only to compete at the highest level, but to represent themselves and Brand Jamaica with confidence, purpose and pride.

We look forward to seeing where these young athletes go — and, hopefully, watching many of them represent Jamaica on the international stage in the years to come. 🇯🇲

Congratulations to Rohannae Sergeant for excelling in the Racers Summer Camp! We were so proud to see children exploring their interests, building new skills, and making the most of their summer.

Through our support of children in the Family Life Ministries For The Child Foster Care Programme, we were pleased to provide opportunities for several children to participate in camps and summer programmes tailored to their interests.

One child attended the Aqua Youth Swim Club, two children participated in Legendary Chess Academy's Summer Camp, two children attended Liguanea Chess Club, and six others went to their regular summer schools.

We believe that every child deserves opportunities to learn, grow, discover their talents and simply enjoy being a child.

JC Students can be seen here during the first week of their two-week internship on GDL’s Phoenix Park Village site, gaining hands-on exposure to the world of construction.

The Construction Project Management (CPM) Course is a partnership between Jamaica College (JC) and the Gore Family Foundation (GFF), created to give students interested in construction an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain practical experience on an active development site.

As a JC Old Boy, Mr. Phillip Gore, Chairman of Gore Homes, has been a strong advocate for creating opportunities like these and giving back to the school and the wider profession.

We believe that giving back means more than just providing support. It means creating opportunities for young people, exposing them to new career paths and helping to develop the next generation of professionals who will contribute to Jamaica’s construction industry. 🇯🇲

It was an honour to welcome Mrs. Latifa Cliff, wife of the late Jimmy Cliff, along with Dwight Richards—Jimmy Cliff's longtime trumpeter, tour manager, and musical director—as our special guests at the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica's 64th Season of Dance.

The Gore Family Foundation was proud to contribute JMD$500,000 towards the remounting of Tribute to Cliff, a powerful celebration of the life and legacy of one of Jamaica's greatest cultural icons.

Having them in attendance made this heartfelt tribute even more special. We are proud to support the preservation of Jamaica's rich artistic and cultural heritage. 🇯🇲✨

Earlier this summer, the GFF was delighted to assemble and distribute Summer Activity Kits to 18 foster children through the Family Life Ministries for the Child Foster Care Program.

We believe that children learn best through play, so these kits were designed to help parents and caregivers create meaningful moments together while keeping children engaged throughout the summer break.

Each kit included:
🌞 Easy-to-follow craft activities
🎲 Fun indoor and outdoor games
📚 Age-appropriate math worksheets
🎨 All the materials needed to complete every activity

By providing hands-on, educational experiences, we hope these kits inspired creativity, encouraged learning, and created lasting memories for the children and families who received them.
