Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. We rescue dogs and cats at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters who can no longer care for them. We give the dogs and cats all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adopti

on services, a second chance at a happy and fulfilled life. We are affiliated with many like-minded animal groups throughout the United States. We invite caring people to join us as volunteers and graciously accept help in the form of time, supplies and monetary contributions. Eleventh Hour Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization funded exclusively by donations.

Meet Durango Dixon — a boy who has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for someone to see just how special he is.

At 2 years old and 42 pounds, Durango is truly the total package. This handsome guy has the kind of personality that makes you wonder how he’s still waiting for his forever home. 🥹

🐱 It’s that time of year again… the time where we come crawling (or should we say purring) to beg you for CAT FOOD! 🧡🐾

And in return, we’re giving you some adorable photos of Clubber trying his absolute best to win your heart… or at least convince you that he deserves a full belly. 😂
The cat food we need, you ask?

The orange box that haunts our dreams because it is the ONLY cat food our cats can all agree on. Any other food either gets ignored completely or causes some very unhappy tummies… which then makes us unhappy because, well… guess who gets stuck cleaning that up? 🤣

All of our cats (unless they are on a special medical diet) eat this food because it helps keep them happy, healthy, and on a routine.

Life in rescue is full of constant change. Our cats go from the mall, to foster homes, to their forever homes. They meet new people, new cats, and experience new environments all the time. The one thing we can keep consistent for them is their food and their feeding routine.

And that little bit of normalcy means SO much. 🧡

We go through about 40 cases of Fancy Feast Classic Pate Poultry Edition every single week to keep our cats fed.

Meet Axel — the 10‑month‑old fluff nugget who is somehow BOTH a puppy AND a chill old man. 🤣🐾✨

This boy is what we call a DREAM DOG.

Here’s why everyone is obsessed with him:

• House‑trained + crate‑trained = your rugs are safe
• Walks pretty well on leash
• Moderate energy except in the mornings. He’s got a 5 min zoomie time wake up routine.
• Loves stuffed toys, balls, ropes
• Eats twice a day, like a good growing boy
• LOVES pets, LOVES brushing, LOVES being near you

• Follows you everywhere like your fluffy little shadow
• Sits next to you on the couch

Axel is a 45‑lb Anatolian Shepherd mix with the softest tan coat, the cutest black muzzle, and eyes that could melt steel. He’s friendly, gentle, smart, eager to please, and honestly just… perfect.

He’s microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to make someone VERY happy.

Meet Oliver — the miniature panther who forgot to tell his personality to match his aesthetic. 🐈‍⬛✨

Sure, he looks like a sleek shadow creature who guards ancient treasure… but in reality, he’s a playful, affectionate little goof who lives for sunbeams, cozy naps, and following his humans around like a loyal (but very quiet) bodyguard.

Oliver may start off a bit shy, but once he decides you’re his person, he becomes your tiny velvet‑furred shadow — always nearby, never in the way, and absolutely convinced he’s helping.

He is FIV‑positive, but that doesn’t slow him down at all. What does slow him down is his diabetic remission — but don’t worry, this “panther” just needs a special diet to keep feeling his best.

Everyone please join us in welcoming these sweet souls to Eleventh Hour Rescue this weekend! 🐾💛

They’re making the journey for one reason — to get their second chance at the good life. Here’s a sneak peek at the incredible pups arriving:

Max — 4‑year‑old, 75 lb German Shepherd/Pyrenees mix. Friendly, housebroken, great with dogs, kids and cats. A gentle, loyal dream dog.

Mother Hubbard — 10‑year‑old, 50 lb Lab mix. Survived hardship, raised her puppy, and now finally ready to be someone’s cherished “pretty girl.”

Little Legs Nelson — 2‑year‑old, 25 lb Dachshund/Basset mix. Short legs, big personality, total comedian. Great with kids, dogs, and cats.

Gerard — 3‑year‑old, 43 lb sweetheart from Georgia. Tennis‑ball lover, friendly with everyone, and walks beautifully on leash.

Marco — 10‑month‑old, 56 lb Cattle Dog mix. Playful, social, eager to please, and ready for adventures.

Rosie — 1‑year‑old, 45 lb bundle of joy. Great with kids, dogs, and cats. Pure sunshine in dog form.

Scout — 2‑year‑old, 56 lb Chocolate Lab mix. Friendly, toy‑obsessed, great with kids, and loves being close to her people.

Durango — 2‑year‑old, 42 lb lovebug. Great with dogs, kids, cats — the total package.
JJ — 3‑year‑old, 72 lb gentle giant. Playful, affectionate, and wonderful with kids and dogs.

Odin — 1‑year‑old, 38 lb Shepherd/Kelpie mix. Fox‑like face, medium size, and a total sweetheart.

Titus — 11‑month‑old, 42 lb playful, gentle boy who loves kids, dogs, and carrying sticks bigger than he is.

These pups are ready for love, stability, and families who will never leave them behind again. 💕

Dobby recently went on a sleepover with one of his favorite volunteer friends. He was so happy to get a break from the kennel and some time in the home. She reported that he did perfectly overnight and was such a good house guest. We’d love to get Dobby back into a home. Read more about him:

Meet Dobby, truly special 2.5-year-old Shepherd/Hound mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Dobby’s journey hasn’t been the easiest. He was originally saved from an area where life is often unkind to dogs like him. Thankfully, he made his way to Eleventh Hour Rescue and found a wonderful home that loved him deeply and worked hard to help him feel safe and secure. For the past year and a half, his family devoted themselves to helping Dobby overcome his fears, especially around very young children. While he was always fantastic with their older child and did beautifully in so many ways, it became clear that Dobby would be happiest in a home without little kids. Letting him go was heartbreaking, but they love him enough to do what’s best for him. Outside of that one challenge, Dobby is described as an amazing dog. He is affectionate, playful, and loves being with his people. He enjoys the company of other dogs, goes to doggy daycare, and would likely thrive in a home with a confident dog. Dobby is house trained, crate trained, and has all the manners of a well-loved pet. He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on shots. Dobby is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can relax, feel safe, and be the loyal, loving companion he was always meant to be. Whoever adopts him will be getting a truly wonderful dog.
