Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. We rescue dogs and cats at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters who can no longer care for them. We give the dogs and cats all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adopti

on services, a second chance at a happy and fulfilled life. We are affiliated with many like-minded animal groups throughout the United States. We invite caring people to join us as volunteers and graciously accept help in the form of time, supplies and monetary contributions. Eleventh Hour Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization funded exclusively by donations.

🐾❤️ MEET BRUCE! ❤️🐾

Bruce is the kind of dog who reminds you that nothing should stop you from living your best life. 🥹

This happy, handsome 11-month-old Cattle Dog mix recently had his right front leg amputated, but Bruce didn't get the memo that he's supposed to slow down! 😂

He LOVES to:
🎾 Play fetch
🐶 Wrestle and play with other dogs
❤️ Cuddle and give kisses
🧠 Learn new things
👀 Follow his people everywhere
🛏️ Snuggle up for some serious couch-free cuddles

His foster mom says Bruce is one of the happiest young dogs she's ever met. He's housebroken, crate trained, smart, attentive, and eager to please. He learned "sit" in under an hour and "stay" in just a day!

And despite being a tripod, Bruce still has plenty of adventures ahead. His foster family thinks he could even excel at obedience or agility with the right person. 🐾

Bruce would love a home with another playful dog to wrestle and run around with. Because he's still a puppy and can be a little chewy, a home where someone isn't gone all day would be ideal. A fenced outdoor space would also be a big plus so he can run and exercise in short spurts while he continues adjusting to life on three legs.

But most importantly, Bruce wants what every dog wants: his people. Someone to love him, play with him, laugh with him, and let him be their best buddy. ❤️

Yes, Eleventh Hour Rescue did, in fact, save a pig. 🐷❤️

We are a dog and cat rescue. We know this. 😂 But when the opportunity came to save a pig AND we had an absolutely amazing adopter willing to give him a home, how could we say no?

Sometimes rescue doesn’t look exactly like what you planned. Sometimes it looks like stepping outside your normal lane because a life needs saving and the perfect person is willing to make it possible.

So yes, we saved a pig. And we’re pretty damn happy we did.

Thank you to the amazing adopter who made this possible. This little guy gets to live his best life because someone was willing to say, “Yep. I’ll take the pig.” 🐷❤️

We’re excited to share that Eleventh Hour Rescue has officially switched to a new website platform! 🐾

The good news? Our new website will have a lot more information, improved features, and a much more user-friendly experience for adopters, fosters, volunteers, and supporters. ❤️

Seriously. Just look at this goofy, handsome boy and try not to smile. We dare you.

Meet Turtle NJ, a 4-year-old, 55-pound sweetheart who has perfected the art of being both a giant goofball and an oversized lap dog. 😂

Turtle loves his toys, loves being around his people, and despite being 55 pounds, firmly believes he belongs in your lap.

He can be a little shy at first, but once Turtle trusts you, he becomes your loyal shadow. He’s house-trained, playful, obedient, and gets along with other dogs with a proper introduction. He’s also good with kids!

Meet our Dog of the Month- Fievel!

Hi, I'm Fievel! Just like that adorable animated mouse 🐭 in that 80's film that gets separated from his family and must make his way back to them. Only I'm a 10-month-old, 50 lb puppy and I just haven't had a loving family yet. They are somewhere out there (or hopefully here on social media) waiting for me to find them. Surely they are searching for me, too. Be our connection and share this post far and wide. 🫶

I have gone through my hard days but the one thing I am is resilient. You see, one day I just kind of showed up on someone's porch starved and would not leave. The couple there would not feed me even though I put on my best smile and was so friendly just wanting some pets. They weren't interested in petting me or giving me food, but I held my head high and went along with Animal Control who they had called to come get me off their property. Because I was so sweet, I avoided euthanasia when Animal Control gave me a chance and called a rescue instead.

Tonight, and many others, I spent all evening at open adoption hours really watching and thinking my people would walk through the door. Any minute. Patience is my middle name. But it didn't happen. Again nobody's interested in me and I cannot imagine why. The nice volunteer who drove me back to the kennel says I'm such a good boy. How do I make an adopter see that? Or even, a foster! I would love a temporary home while I wait 🤞.

I am good with dogs, good with kids, cratetrained, playful, and I enjoy car rides. My most endearing trait is my affectionate side because I have had 9 months of pent up love I am ready to unleash. ❤️
