Are you in Rome today? This is for you 🫵🏼

On May 13 in Rome, the event “Beauty and Care” will take place at Ospedale Isola Tiberina – Gemelli Isola, bringing together voices from the worlds of culture, medicine, art, and communication to reflect on the connection between beauty, well-being, spirituality, and human care.

Promoted by Il Cortile dei Gentili — the foundation led by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi and Prof. Giuliano Amato to foster dialogue between believers and non-believers — in collaboration with the Fondazione Ospedale Isola Tiberina, the event will explore beauty not as an accessory to care, but as a deeply human dimension capable of generating connection, dignity, and hope, even in contexts of fragility.

The dialogue will feature distinguished speakers including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, Corrado Augias, Jacopo Veneziani, Andrea Gaggioli, and Prof. Vincenzo Valentini, moderated by Paola Saluzzi.

The Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates is honored to grant its patronage to this initiative, which promotes dialogue, humanity, and care as essential values for individual and collective well-being. 🕊️

Throwback to Chicago 🇺🇸🕊️ | April 22, 2012
On this day, the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates opened in Chicago, bringing together Nobel Laureates, global leaders, and changemakers committed to advancing peace, dialogue, and human rights.
A highlight of the Summit was the presentation of the Peace Summit Award to actor and activist Sean Penn, in recognition of his humanitarian work in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. The opening dinner also featured an address by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who called on a new generation to step forward as agents of change.
The 2012 Summit marked a powerful moment of exchange and collaboration, where ideas turned into action and new generations were inspired to help build a more just and peaceful world.
Looking back, we celebrate not only the conversations that took place, but the lasting impact they continue to have today. 🌍✨

Happy Birthday to us! 🎂

On this day in 1999, the first World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates was held in Rome, marking the beginning of a unique global platform for dialogue, cooperation, and the promotion of peace.

Founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Mikhail Gorbachev, the Summit brought together Laureates and peace organizations with a shared commitment: to transform their moral authority into concrete action for a more just and peaceful world.

Since that first historic gathering, the Summit has continued to unite voices from across the globe, fostering dialogue, inspiring new generations, and advancing solutions to the most pressing challenges of our time.

Today, we celebrate the vision that started it all 🌍✨

What does the World of your dreams look like?

Looking back at the 2022 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, we remember a powerful moment, where participants from around the world tried to make their wishes for the World, holding messages that spoke of hope, justice, and solidarity.

These simple yet meaningful gestures reminded us that peace is not just an idea, but a shared commitment, one that lives through people, words, and actions.

In today’s increasingly complex and challenging global environment, these messages resonate even more strongly. They remind us of the urgency to stand together, to choose dialogue over division, and to keep advocating for a more peaceful and just world.

Health is not only a fundamental human right, it is a foundation for peace.

Around the world, conflict, inequality, and environmental challenges continue to threaten the well-being of millions. Promoting health means protecting human dignity, fostering stability, and building stronger, more resilient communities. 💉

At the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, this connection is reflected in the work of Nobel Prize–awarded organizations such as:

👨🏻‍⚕International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, awarded in 1985 for raising awareness about the catastrophic health consequences of nuclear war. A perfect example of how health and peace are deeply linked.
👨🏻‍⚕Médecins Sans Frontières, honored for providing medical care in conflict zones and crisis areas, often where healthcare systems have collapsed.
👨🏻‍⚕International Committee of the Red Cross, a multiple-time laureate (including 1917, 1944, 1963), recognized for protecting lives and providing medical and humanitarian assistance during war.

Sport has the power to unite, inspire, and build bridges across cultures, communities, and nations.

At the World Summit of Nobel Laureates for Peace, this connection is reflected in the recognition of athletes such as Roberto Baggio as well as organizations like Peace and Sport awarded the Peace Summit Award for their commitment to dialogue, inclusion, and social impact.

Moreover, thanks to initiatives like the Sport Diplomacy Dialogues and strong testimonials form sport, the Summit continues to highlight how sport can foster reconciliation, promote mutual understanding, and empower younger generations.
Today, we celebrate sport as a universal language of peace—capable of bringing people together and driving meaningful change around the world. 🌍✨

Want to know how to bring peace to the World? Just ask to the youth.

Here's what they wrote in the last youth final declaration during in 2024: "We are on a countdown. The clock is ticking. 103 days until 2025, a decade since the first Youth Declaration. Ten years ago, we stood before you, diverse voices united by a shared dream for peace. This is not just a date on the calendar; It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.
In the last declaration, we demanded to be heard.
Today, at the 19th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, as youth delegates we represent 1.2 billion young people who are wondering what we need to do to make change.
Do we beg? Do we plead?
No, we lead.
As youth, we lead with compassion, love, and unity. We represent the voices of our communities. Find your voice. Take this step with us. The clock is ticking but this fight for peace is not just the responsibility of your generation or our generation.
We see you. We hear you. We lead by example. But, we lead together."

Happy Birthday to Roberto Baggio 🎉🕊️
Today we celebrate Roberto Baggio, a global icon of sport whose values go far beyond the football field.
In 2010, in Hiroshima, he was awarded the Man of Peace recognition for his commitment to peace, dialogue, and humanitarian values—demonstrating how sport can be a powerful vehicle for unity and reconciliation.
On his birthday, we honor his legacy as an athlete and as a messenger of peace, whose example continues to inspire generations around the world.
