Music Therapy in humanitarian contexts: practices, ethics, and operational methodologies is a workshop exploring music therapy in humanitarian and crisis settings, with a focus on community-based approaches and psychosocial frameworks.

📢 Update for authors of accepted abstracts

Due to technical issues related to the high volume of abstract submissions, as well as difficulties experienced by some authors during the upload process, the deadline for submitting abstracts for the Congress Proceedings for authors of accepted abstracts of the 18th World Congress of Music Therapy - Connecting Borders will be extended.

📩 The new deadline, together with updated submission procedures for authors, will be communicated via email during the coming week.

🌍 Discover the WCMT 2026 pre-conference workshops and join a day of learning, reflection, and international exchange before the congress begins.

Music as therapy in neonatal care and beyond is a full-day workshop dedicated to music therapy in neonatal intensive care and early development settings.

🎵 Coordinated by Friederike B. Haslbeck, the workshop explores evidence-based approaches, family-centered care, Creative Music Therapy, and the role of music in supporting premature infants and their families.

Through presentations, role-play, video case studies, and experiential activities, participants will engage with clinical practice and current research in neonatal music therapy.

Connecting practice and research in Music Therapy for Depression: methods, models, and shared experience is a full-day workshop exploring evidence-based and experiential approaches to music therapy for depression.

🌍 Coordinated by Sonja Aalbers, with contributions from Christine Gaebel, Josephine Geipel, Suvi Saarikallio, Esa Ala-Ruona, Jaakko Erkkilä, and Laura Fusar-Poli, the workshop brings together clinicians, researchers, and educators for presentations, experiential sessions, and professional dialogue.
