Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust, in partnership with Motilal Oswal Foundation, honoured inspiring Wadi farmers whose dedication to sustainable agriculture has transformed their livelihoods. Together, we’re nurturing self-reliant farmers and stronger rural communities.

When farmers are empowered, they don’t just grow crops—they grow hope, dignity, and a better future.” 🌱

Jayesh Pagi’s journey is a powerful example of how sustainable agriculture can transform lives.

A farmer from Palghar, Jayesh once struggled to make ends meet through farming and had to migrate to Virar every year in search of work. Today, through the Wadi Farming initiative implemented by Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust (SCHCT) with the generous support of the Motilal Oswal Foundation, he has built a diversified and sustainable farm that provides a stable livelihood for his family.

His farming income has grown from around ₹25,000 per year to up to ₹50,000 per month, demonstrating the life-changing impact of Wadi Farming when combined with the right guidance, resources, and continuous support.

This transformation is more than an increase in income—it is about restoring dignity, reducing seasonal migration, strengthening rural resilience, and empowering farmers to build a better future on their own land.

🌱 Turning Agricultural Waste into Sustainable Livelihoods

With the support of Muthoot Finance and implementation by Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust (Govardhan Rural Development), a dedicated vermicomposting facility has been established to support a 15-farmer group in adopting sustainable agricultural practices and producing high-quality organic compost.

Beyond production, the facility will also serve as a community learning and demonstration centre, where farmers can gain practical exposure to scientific vermicomposting, organic farming practices, and sustainable resource management.

Through hands-on learning, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and continuous farmer engagement, this initiative aims to inspire wider adoption of organic farming across the surrounding community.

By creating opportunities for learning, production, and participation, the facility will contribute to healthier soils, sustainable livelihoods, and stronger rural communities.

📢 Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI)

Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust (SCHCT) invites experienced research agencies, development consulting firms, academic institutions, social enterprises, and independent professionals to partner with us in conducting a comprehensive Baseline Survey in Palghar District, Maharashtra.

The survey will contribute to evidence-based planning and implementation of rural development initiatives across key thematic areas including livelihoods, water resource development, women empowerment, and community development.

We are seeking partners with proven experience in:
