For Muskan, football started as a passion. Today, it has become a way to create change.

Football has been an important part of Muskan’s journey, shaping her confidence and giving her opportunities to learn and participate. Today, she is using that experience to make a difference in the lives of other children.

As part of the Sports for Development (S4D) Programme at YFC Rurka Kalan, she has taken on the role of a Youth Facilitator. She works with children through sport, creating spaces where they can play, learn, express themselves, and take part.

The experience is also shaping Muskan’s own journey. Working with children is helping her build confidence, take responsibility, communicate with others, and understand the value of contributing to her community.

What football has given Muskan is now becoming something she can share with others.

At YFC Rurka Kalan, this is what we hope sport can become—not just a game, but a starting point for young people to grow, lead, and contribute to their communities.

Strong facilitation begins with strong preparation.

At YFC Rurka Kalan, we believe that building the knowledge, skills and understanding of youth facilitators is essential to delivering quality programmes and creating meaningful experiences through sport.

As part of our 3-day Capacity Building Training for Youth Facilitators, newly joined YFs have begun this learning process through sessions, discussions and practical activities.

On the first day, we invited them to share their first impressions, key learnings and reflections from the training.

Every new learning is a step towards becoming a stronger facilitator, and every stronger facilitator brings us closer to the change we aim to create through sport.

A proud achievement for the U-19 Girls Badminton Team!

Players from the YFC Rurka Kalan Badminton Program secured 2nd position at the District-Level Badminton Competition held at HMV College, Jalandhar.

Congratulations to Amanpreet Kaur, Mala, Rani, Pooja, and Sania for their commitment, teamwork, and strong performance on the court.

The journey continues with Pooja selected for the state-level trials, while one more team member will also get the opportunity to compete.

Wishing the players the very best as they take their next step forward in badminton.

Every football session is a step towards learning, improving, and growing.

With regular practice and guided sessions, young players work on their technical skills, decision-making, and teamwork while building confidence on the field. Each session creates an opportunity to turn practice into progress and develop skills that extend beyond the game.

A new journey of exchange and learning begins at YFC Rurka Kalan.

We are pleased to welcome Clemens Steiner, who will be joining YFC Rurka Kalan for the next six months through the weltwärts - Der entwicklungspolitische Freiwilligendienst North-South Voluntary Service Program, supported by the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) and Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. DIZ.

As part of his engagement, Clemens will contribute to our programs and community-based initiatives while experiencing and learning from the work we undertake with children, young people, and communities.

We believe that such exchanges create valuable opportunities to share perspectives, build understanding, and learn from each other.

We look forward to welcoming Clemens into the YFC Rurka Kalan community and to the experiences that the coming six months will bring.

A meaningful visit and an encouraging perspective on the power of sport.

We had the opportunity to welcome Manisha Kalyan, an Indian footballer of the Indian Women’s National Football Team, to the YFC Generation Amazing Community Club, Rurka Kalan.

During her visit, Manisha experienced the facility and shared her valuable feedback on YFC Rurka Kalan’s initiatives towards creating opportunities for young players and supporting the development of sports at the grassroots level.

Coming from a player who has represented India at the highest level, her perspective is especially meaningful to us. Her experience and words of encouragement remind us of the importance of creating the right environment for young players to train, grow, and aspire to take their game further.

We are grateful to Manisha for sharing her experience. Her encouragement motivates us to keep moving forward and continue creating meaningful opportunities through sport.

When access to sport creates an opportunity, dedication can take it further.

Ankit has been selected to represent Punjab at the 10th National Pickleball Championship in Kochi, Kerala, organized by AIPA (All India Pickleball Association)—a significant step in his sporting journey and a reflection of his continued dedication to the game.

As part of his preparation, he came to the GACC facility at YFC Rurka Kalan to practice and make use of the available pickleball facilities, giving him an opportunity to train and further develop his game.

At YFC Rurka Kalan, we aim to create opportunities where young people can participate, practice, improve, and progress through sport.

His selection is more than a sporting achievement—it is a step towards a bigger journey, showing how the right opportunity can help an athlete move closer to where they want to be.

Six months of learning, sharing, and making a difference.

As Maximilian Schmidt completes his six-month journey with YFC Rurka Kalan through the Weltwärts North-South Voluntary Service Program, supported by the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) and Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. DIZ, we reflect with gratitude on his contribution to our work.

During his time with us, Maximilian supported the S. Sohan Singh Chhokar Education and Sports Academy in Pasla, working with students to strengthen their English language skills and build confidence in communication.

Through his regular sessions and interactions, he brought new perspectives, encouraged students to learn and practice, and became a valued part of our community.

We sincerely thank Maximilian for his time, commitment, and contribution to our initiatives. We wish him all the very best for the next chapter of his journey.
