RPI Bids Emotional Farewell to SP Abdul Maajid Sahab, Hails His People-Friendly Tenure in Pulwama
The Rahmoo Public Interest (RPI) has expressed heartfelt appreciation and best wishes to SP Abdul Maajid sahab on the completion of his tenure in Pulwama and his recent promotion as Superintendent of Police (SP).
During his tenure as DySP Headquarters, Pulwama, Abdul Maajid Sahab earned appreciation from people for his approachable, humble and people-friendly conduct. His office remained accessible to the public, and he was known for listening patiently to the concerns and grievances of ordinary citizens.
RPI members said that several long-pending public issues and genuine grievances, particularly those concerning poor and needy people, received attention during his tenure. His willingness to engage directly with the public and facilitate the resolution of genuine concerns left a positive impression among many people in the district.
“SP Abdul Maajid Sahab will always be remembered in Pulwama for his honesty, dedication, humility and close connection with the people. He was not only an officer, but someone who made people feel heard and respected,” RPI said.
One of the qualities people particularly remember is his accessibility. Many people have shared their experiences of calling Maajid Sahab while he was busy with official duties, only to receive a call back from him later.
“Whenever I called Maajid Sahab, sometimes he would be busy attending to official duties, but he would always call back later. This simple gesture speaks volumes about his respect for the public. Despite his responsibilities, he never ignored people’s concerns,” an RPI member said.
His patience, humility, accessibility and commitment to public service made a lasting impression on people. Such gestures, RPI said, are remembered long after an officer moves to a new assignment.
His release from Pulwama today has left many people emotional, with members of the public expressing their disappointment at his departure. However, transfers and postings are an integral part of government service, and RPI respects the administrative decision while wishing him continued success in his new responsibility.
The RPI team expressed gratitude to SP Abdul Maajid for his service to the people of Pulwama and said his people-friendly approach, dedication and commitment to public service will be remembered.
