Sanmat is a vision of young enthusiastic engineers passionate about building just and participative society. Having been educated in the premier institutes of the Country and employed by fortune companies they realized that even though the Country was progressing the benefits were not percolating to the deserving section of the society.
Sanmat, their brainchild, thus came in to existence in 2007 under registration no 2487/07. With Govt. of Tamilnadu in Chennai. The devastating Tsunami in Southern India and the ravages caused by the same led them to introspect and actively contribute towards working towards changing lives of underprivileged communities in India with a special focus on bridging governance/ex*****on gaps. With a strong notion to make people believe in them, and wrest the initiative of social change in their own hands, within their own milieu rather than abdicate it to a state.
Since 2007, Sanmat has been working for inclusive development in India by bringing government to citizen. We focuss on bridging governance gaps in the ex*****on of various Government & Non Government programs for the marginalized community. We believe that Every human being have different mindset, circumstances with equal rights to grow, should have dignity & happiness in life. At Sanmat we provide important opportunities for individuals, enterprises, startups, community based organizations, activists and nurture/mentor innovations and implement solutions to long standing isues like poverty, education, environment, livelihood, Unemployment, Hunger and Health care. We work on a variety of initiatives, including livelihoods, public health, youth development and rural development related programs such as Social Forestry under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. We have widespread in states like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, UP, Tamilnadu, and Delhi.
SANMAT, started by Technology, Management Graduates & Post Graduates, Development Practioners from Top ten universities of world like, London School of Economics, Institute of Development Studies, Univ. of SUSSEX, England Florida University-USA, IIT, Roorkee & Dr MGR Educational & Research Institute, Chennai in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Team members are having specialization in Urban and rural Development planning, Sustainable Design, Livelihood, Agriculture, Health and Poverty Alleviation, Governance, Forestry, Evaluation Research, Technology, Community services, IEC etc. Our team member has vast experience of working with Government Departments and International NGOs like UNICEF, UNDP and Gates Foundation. Our Major Activity is based on a self-sustainable development model for alleviation of poverty.
